Kiss my ass, nitwit.

Your guy Pinero talks funny. That bugs me in Journey. Deal with it.

Precisely! I can listen to and watch them with Steve Perry on CDs and DVDs and I can go see Frontiers locally when they get back together. I've got CDs and DVDs of Jeff Scott Soto and maybe he'll tour somewhere close enough for me to see him again too. So why in the world would I want to go watch the sad parody of what was once a great band just because it can legally use the name Journey?

Frankly, even though I don't wish any of them any personal harm, I can't say that I wish any of them well as far a Journey is concerned because I think the name should be retired. In fact, it should have been back in 1997. The only good that came of them keeping the name going is that it introduced a lot of us to JSS. There's nowhere for them to go now but Image and frankly I wouldn't even lend them a roll of TP.

With all due respect to Arnel, if this information is true, this band has morphed into the biggest joke in the history of rock n' roll.

If any body shows up at the State, no COUNTY fairgrounds, where these ass-clowns will be playing, throw corn dogs and funnel cakes at Friga and Fro. Aim well though--don't hit Ross, Dean or Arnel. It's not their fault.

I may be at the Fair, but you won't find me paying money to see these cockstains--I'll be in line to see the bearded lady. 8)

Mark it 8, Dude.

Fully agree with your post. And I'll probably have a listen, but I'm done putting money in Journey's pocket. Besides there is no way their shows could be any funner than JSSB's!

Same thinking here. I'm sure this is a great opportunity for Arnel (if he does have the gig) - he can sing, but it just feels wrong to me to have what seems to be an impersonation of SP. I could handle when Deen C. would sing a few songs & sounded like SP, but he wasn't the front man.

Don't agree. Of course the kid sings in a higher key than Jeff but only few can beat Jeff's range and Arnel is not one of them!

If indeed he is officially the new singer, I hope they don't address him as their 'permanent' lead singer in the press release. They fed Jeff and the rest of us the same BS a while back. I just hope Arnel is prepared for all of the lying going on in the Journey camp.

Even if it's not official yet,I will congratulate Arnel! 8)
This guy has such an awesome voice. He sure deserves to front a legendary band like Journey is.
Even if the current members have done irreparable harm to the way the band is seen today especially by the diehard fans,no one can deny that the Journey name is still pretty powerful.
I'm positive that they will find enough (financial) support to tour and even record a new album if they want to.

My personal wish is to hear Arnel singing with a bunch of pro musicians,on a state-of-the-art stage or in a properly equipped recording studio.
I truly believe that his voice will fully shine.
No offense to the band Arnel's been singing with on those YouTube videos, but they sounded awful. His talent deserves much more.

If Journey will record an album with Arnel,I will buy it.I just can't reject a project that involves talented musicians. :)

Arnel needs to work on his stage presence, but other than that he certainly has the pipes to get the job done. I would have preferred Jason Kelty, but Arnel seems to have what it takes.

IMO he has the best voice for Journey since Perry in his prime.

I still think Neal and Jon are assholes, but to be honest, I think this would be a very strong Journey lineup.

You really think they'd take that picture if they weren't goin with him? All 4 Journey dudes plus the Arnel's manager.

Looks like an outtake from a publicty photo shoot to me.

Plus Andrew did say "He's the man".

I'm sure he's in.

Regarding them giving up the name, that should've happened in '98 but whatever. Done deal, two singers down.

Next!

I, however, will not spend any more money on Journey, save for DVDs or CD remasters of the classic lineup. My money is going to other acts now. For me, it's an integrity issue. Nuff said.

Ya know what? Doesn't really matter. The new guy will live out a dream. After next tour, maybe two, the band will kick him to the curb in favor of 'some other direction'. He'll go on with a few bucks in his wallet and a nice blurb on his resume. Then Journey will do it all over again, or hang it up. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Eventually, NS will bequeath the Journey name to his son, Miles, and we see a 'new' Journey of some sort.

(OT food for thot. I think a new supergroup that could make a lot of waves would be Miles Schon, Wolfgang VanHalen, & Nick Simmons. Not sure who else could be in the band. Call the band, 'Legacy'.)
