Raiderfan's exactly right. More government involvement simply leads to higher taxes, more government control, and less government accountability. Government does not run things anywhere nearly as efficiently as even a mediocre private business does.
No, RaiderFan is completely wrong (there's a surprise).
The Tory right wing social experiment that was Mrs Thatcher's government, which began in 1979 has proved, certainly for the UK model that deregulation of key services and industries to be exactly the opposite of what you say. Its been a 25 tear fucking disaster.
Our utility industries are a joke. A poll for the BBC showed that 87% of travellers would prefer to see the railway system back in public - yes 'Nationalised' control. They are sick and tired of shoddy services, filthy, late trains and appalling value for money. They can't see why they should line the pockets of incompetent PRIVATE COMPANY executives.
People have worked out that when the family silver (British Telecom, British Gas, The Electricity Board etc etc) were asset stripped and sold off, they suddenly had to factor in paying dividends to 'shareholders' rather than reinvesting in what are services needed by every man, woman and child in this country. Our essential utility services, due to the Right's market-will-find-its-own-level economic claptrap has given us the most expensive basic neccessities in Europe. Our utilities are owned by Germans, Spanish, French. They don't give a fuck about the people of the UK, they are just hiving off profits at our expense.
You two, as christians should know that it is morally repugnant to put huge profits before the basic wellbeing and neccesities of the population?
Those far right policies are now causing more poverty for children and young families in the UK than ever before.
Your Utility companies (Enron

) are more of a joke than ours - good old free-market economics eh?
That includes not being forced into gov't controlled programs like nationalized health care like you.
You have used one of the most bullshit-laden stories to emerge in the UK for years. I don't know anyone here who recognises that story concerning lack of NHS dentists - trust you to pull that one
