Jeremey would be a much better choice to follow JSS than another fellow who AP -parently already has the job.

Don't worry about Froy, EA...she has an unexplainable contempt for me, so much that she waits for new YouTube vids just to pounce on them and say how much I suck. I don't know what I did to her, probably said something about Styx at some point which she took as a personal attack on all she holds dear. It's absurd really. Just post something about me, and Froy will be in the thread within hours to bash.

Its he Jeremey and I hate to say it but you really sound horrible on the youtube clips
There is no reason for you to even be mentioned as a JRNY front man.
If you are all JRNY has than forget it.
If I ever hear you live I may change my O but for now You Tube does you know justice.

Until you do hear him live, can you please lay off it? You're in the minority here. That ought to say something to you.

Get your ears checked Froy. Go DDY yourself. If Jeremey wasn't an excellent singer, he wouldn't have been invited to audition.

So...it's the end of October. Is it Journey in the studio with Kevin Shirley? Does anybody know for sure if it's any of those other bands mentioned?

And let's stay away from "who cares?", like seems to be the response to most of the topics about current Journey on this board these days.

I emailed Kevin and have received no response back. My guess is that Journey does not have enough material to record a full CD, but we will see. Mystery and Journey go hand in hand.....

Thanks Andrew. I wasn't sure if it was a possibility with some of the stuff in this thread that could seemingly fit. And then with Jeremey saying in his blog that Cain has a decent amount of material on his computer - I thought maybe they had more for an album than we thought.

They may have material but they do not have a lead singer... I think we will all be in for a surprise when it is announced.

That previous poster must be deaf, because when I listen to the videos on myspace Jeremey's voice is outstanding. It is too bad Journey screwed up what would have been a great opportunity. Next to either Jeremey singing, or the slight chance that Perry is coming back, this may be the end of Journey playing big tours and the beginning of them moving back to smaller venues.

If it is Journey, maybe they're just doing a couple of demos.
Maybe they're bringing Soto back to do something. Thought it interesting that he cancelled JSSB gigs for the first week of Nov. Maybe just a coincidence about the timing of these events...who knows.
Seems no one is busy this coming week except for Kevin Shirley.

I believe Cain just had reams and reams of lyrics, some no more than a few sentences, some full-fledged songs. More of a writers notebook on PC than anything else.

Nov. 1st Kevin says: "Up in San Francisco for a couple of weeks - it's foggy. Went for a bike ride along the bay - had flashbacks to working here with Steve Perry and the J-boys in 1996."

Not to break character here from my filth spewing egotistic maniacal self, but all in all, I know Jon Cain gets a lot of shit on these boards, and I have to say he really was a down to earth, genuine guy with a real grounded sense of family. Everyone who lives in that rock star bubble has their own personality quirks we "mere mortals" may not identify with, but I did appreciate where the guy was coming from, and he was a stand up guy in a lot of ways where I was concerned.

That's because you hadn't become a band member yet! I bet Soto thought Cain was Ward-friggin'-Cleaver, too, when he first got to know him. Then, he turns into the Evil Princess of Douche Castle.

Either that or they're going instrumental only. Maybe they're bringing back Rolie.

Cool cyndy, though I am surprised they brought Kevin back based on some of Neal's opinions about the Trial By Fire sessions. For this recording though, I could understand why they would want a different ear besides Elson's behind the console.

Well we have Journey in the studio with Shirley and in another thread a radio station rumoring a tour with Steve Perry as vocalist this summer. I would have never thought it would happen, but this may explain some of the truely odd moves the band has made these past months. I know I may end up kicking myself for this, but things seem to be getting really interesting regarding a Perry return.

We have been down this road before, too many times to count. I, for one, will not get my hopes up until there is an official announcement. Who knows, someone mentioned the JSSB canceled the rest of their tour. Maybe Neal&Jon had a change of heart and asked Jeff back.

Yes, but why Kevin Shirley. Neal has been quoted on numerous occasions as saying Elson is his man. Shirley is most definately Perry's man. Is there a JSS conection with Shirley? If so I am unaware. Not saying this is a definate happening, just that more signs are pointing toward this now then at anytime since 1996 that I can recall.
