What would it take for you to pay to see Journey again?

I would only pay to see them again if Steve Perry came back.

For me Perry, JSS or Augeri. All three have given significant (to differing degrees) contributions to the band.

Anyone other than them would be just too Cabaret / Cover band for me.

Dean kicks ass on the drums, Neal shreds, Cain is a great keyboardist, Ross is always steady and fun to watch on stage. Sure I would go to one of their concerts even without a lead singer. I'd pay to see them with either Steve, Jeff, Arnel, JH, etc.

Ditto.. It's all about the "timeless" music for me..

I'll go regardless, but they won't have my full support without new music....

I think you mean singer number 6 because I already saw them with singer number 4. That was Steve Augeri. The order went like this:

1. Gregg Rolie
2. Robert Fleischman
3. Steve Perry
4. Steve Augeri
5. Jeff Scott Soto
6. ?

Well, so far the poll shows that 71% of the Journey fans on this forum will not be paying to see Journey's third Steve Perry replacement. So much for the idea that Journey will be cashing-in on a 2008 tour in the States (unless they open for a popular headliner). I see that Journey has a concert date already booked for 2008 in Chile. Maybe they will do an extensive tour outside the USA because they realize people here are tired of the revolving singer door?

Dude, this board probably represents less than one half of one percent of Journey's tour going fans. "The revolving singer door" hasn't cost them any fans as the casual fan is there once or twice a year to hear the MUSIC. Unlike us, they couldn't care less if this guy got fired or who is fronting the band as long as it's a decent rendition. Vocally, Arnel Pineda will be Journey's best vocalist since Perry in recreating the 80's sound, which is EXACTLY what people want to hear. I'll give this lineup a shot, as I did all others.

PS I still say Perry does the U.S. leg of the 2008 tour. AP is still merely a way to make a few dollars in the meantime.

I love your optimism. I'm 100% with you on that sentiment.

I'd have to disagree. I've asked a lot of my friends and coworkers who paid to see Journey with Augeri and JSS, and they have had enough. I don't see Journey filling venues on their own merit in 2008 without Perry at the helm.

Damn, that has to be a record for the most frontmen for one band!
