Unlike Frig and Fro, it is obvious The Eagles cared about how they sound and made the disc sound good, especially production wise. Unlike the money grubbing cheap ass members of Journey.

The Eagles CD is good. It sounds like The Eagles.

Genearations sounded like my bad karoake on audacity. Fuck Journey.

Love it some really moody pieces of music i am very surprised how good it is! :)

I haven't heard the new CD yet, but they did OK on the CMA awards last night. Not great, just OK. If they hadn't been up for comparison against Sugarland, Big and Rich, and Rascal Flats they may have sounded better to me. I know that's not fair, but I'm just being honest about what I heard. I'm an Eagles fan by the way.

Yeah, I was underwhelmed by their performance, too. Especially after Rascal Flatts kicked ass opening the show.

Any good footage of the CMAs out there yet? One thing I will say about the Eagles live is that their musicianship is unquestionable... harmonies, licks, riffs, etc are all re-produced to a T. However, that's just the thing - their is absolutely NO room for spontaneity. I have it on VERY VERY good authority from a Joe Walsh bandmate (from Joe's early days) that the Eagles always play to a click live and a guitarist (or anyone else) taking a solo past the alotted measures is liable to be the subject of a backstage Henley tantrum. I love Don Henley's voice, music, and lyrics, but from all the biographical and anecdotal evidence I've come across, he might be one of the biggest dickheads in the biz. But anyway, off my soap box. I agree with whoever questioned the double disc format... take 4-5 off of each one and you've got a KILLER album. Still love having new Eagles... I think I'll come back to the first "side" more often than the second down the line.

Just received Long Road Out Of Eden today and I couldn't
wait to give it a play.
Though I expected more uppity or rockin tunes on it I am
pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds.
So far my favorite track is I Don't Want To Hear Anymore.
Love their harmonies and as far as I'm concerned
Glenn Frey and Timothy B Schmit still get my praise after all of
these years. :)
