IMO, the biggest of all the big mistakes Friga and Schon ever made, over the past decade and a half, was not going with the reunion lineup that contained Chalfant and Rolie. I feel that Friga had alot to do with that decision also.

I really am thinking that Neal's loyalty/friendship with Friga is what has caused alot of the downfall of Journey post 1987. I have always felt that the dismissal of JSS was way more of a Friga decision. IMO Neal could survive in the music business, especially in the rock world, without his ties to Friga. I can't say the same about The Frig.

Message to Neal, get away from Jon and start hanging with some of you old rock friends (Hagar, Montrose, Satriani, Rolie, Rogers, etc.). You've always professed your desire to rock more. Well hangin with the Frig will just de-ball you over time. Rock and The Frig just don't go together.

I don't know Dano, if they had, they would have toured KC to death, and he'd be laid up with a busted voice too. Certainly it would have been great to see them with Rolie again.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Makes sense to me. But, none of the decisions coming out of the Journey camp lately make much sense. Chalfant has been the easy choice for over a decade now. There must be something from the pre TBF "Chalfant/Rolie" reunion lineup that just did not sit well with Friga or Schon (or both). Chalfant has wanted to be in Journey for a long time now. :?

Getting Chalfont on board makes way too much sense.
Chalfont may sound like Perry but the dude can write some awesome tunes.
I've always supported Kev and attended his shows whenever possible.

That's not how it all went down, imo. This one show was HH's retirement roast, which happened in 1992, I believe. According to an SP interview around that time, he was in New York mixing his FTLOSM album and was not available to attend (said he sent a telegram). I don't believe SP going back to Journey had anything to do with KC. The record label was working to get the classic lineup back together ever since 1987. It finally materialize in 1995.

Neal and Jon also knew they could never be as successful a group without SP's voice on a Journey record.

I'm terribly sorry that my answer didn't meet your expectations/criteria......Although I can't reveal who it was that told me this(Won't risk the friendship, call me all the names you want, call bs etc) I can tell you it was One of the principles involved in the story.

As for dip and stick(Schon and Cain)....I can't disagree with your statement more....if that were truely the case, then how do you explain their hiring of Augeri ( not to mention the album they did together),Soto and some bar band singer? They are whores for money, both of them and they'll continue to tarnish the legacy for as long as the sheep continue to come.

Again, sorry my previous answer was unsatisfactory to you.But it's not my opinion but the facts as given to me by someone involved in the whole thing.

BTW did you get to meet Kevin at MR fest? I hope so 'cause he's one of the good guys.

I may be the only one but I like Kevin singing his own stuff rather than Journey music.

KC singing Journey doesn't do anything for me but I love The Storm, Two Fires, etc.
