To support a band who treats people like garbage is just disheartening. Might as well support Mike Tyson and OJ Simpson too.
Dean, now that is a very wrong statement. Journey is a band that made questionable personel decisions, for reasons that we will probably never know but dont compare them to a murderer and a thug/rapist/whatever else he is. I have morals, thank you. Just because I still love a rock band that I grew up with doesnt lessen me as a human being. Spineless, for being a fan?? These days you are anything but for admitting you are still a fan. You are out of line with this one, man. Too far. C/mon Dean, a couple of weeks ago you were showing some support.
I don't care who hates Journey and who likes them... I have too many other things to invest my emotions in than rock bands, who I like primarily for their
music -- I like to pop in a CD and rock out, plain and simple. As I've mentioned before, if I like a band, of course I care who is in the band or not, but it's a fact of life that bands are difficult entities to maintain and hold together. People come and go. Just the way it is. Heck, I went to Foreigner with the only original member being Mick on guitar, and they kicked butt! (I actually really went to see the suporting musicians, Kelly Hansen, Jeff Pilson, and Jason Bonham).
What's
really hilarious is all the griping about Journey's bad treatment of other people, and their lack of moral judgment -- yeah, coming from this lot!
I have a theory that the "haters" don't really hate the band or are "done with them" as much as they claim, else they'd just move on and find another interest. I think they just want attention from the band, or the thought that the band might possibly listen to them if they rant long enough. But if you enjoy doing it, go ahead... I'll always love Journey for what they've done and accomplished musically, and that's all I really care about. Ain't never going to feel bad about that...
