Guitar/bass/vocalist, though I've never been a natural musician -- I've had to work very hard just to be passable in my opinion. I think one of my problems is that I never spent enough time around other good musicians to learn the ropes properly. Then I quit playing entirely for about 4 years, picking it back up about 12 years ago, but never seriously. I'm starting to work a bit harder so maybe I can finally do something, even if just writing/recording a few songs for my own enjoyment. Even that would be a huge step for me at this point.

I'm a musician, yes. Also produced and engineered some albums (The Lec Zorn Project being one of them). My instruments are guitar and drums mainly.

There's 2 medleys of my songs on myspace (these are off my latest solo album): http://www.myspace.com/michaelriesenbeck. One of the vocalists featured is Bryan Wooley....!

Cheers,

Michael Riesenbeck

Hey Marc,

Gotta say, I LOVE your bands sound. Awesome tunes! Something tells me we'd have a serious difference of opinion on several issues, but I like the music!

Yes, I play keyboards, write songs and sing. Steve Perry became my biggest influence when I first heard him in 1979. (Don't know where I was in 1978...on another planet, I guess.) I have been in tons of bands since I graduated from high school in 1980. I have a recording of a song I did in 2004 in my home recording studio when I lived in Georgia.

The last band I was in, Atomic Wedgie (nicked from a "Friends" episode...that's the one where the waistband actually goes up OVER the head) did mostly classic rock covers, but some originals and newer stuff (Avril Lavigne, Tracy Bonham, Sheryl Crow). Someone once told me I sounded like a cross between Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson, but I don't see it. Let me know what you think...

It took me forever to find a free hosting site, so this may take a while...click on Download to hear it...

I did it. Good song. It was a license agreement. I have no idea if it was safe or not.

Yeah...I get a little nervous when stuff like that pops up! Viruses or spam, who needs them? If any of you computer savy people on here can tell us if it's safe, I'd love to check out the song...

It's a standard Microsoft Windows Media license requirement -- says the file was protected when it was ripped from CD, and therefore needs to download a license to your PC in order to play it (the license is associated with your computer and the media). Also mentions that Microsoft tracks how many times this has been done.

I'm sure there is no harm with this particular file, but for myself generally, I steer clear of any of MS's digital rights management or media protection stuff, because I don't trust MS farther than I can throw them on customer privacy.

Sorry about that, guys! Does anyone know of another free MP3 hosting site that I can use to post my song? Most of them, you have to jump through 900 hoops and sign up for all kinds of crap just to host one damn song! I don't want anyone to have to download software just to listen to it. Any ideas?
