You love this guy with your sugar walls, not because he was the greatest singer. I am a guy and can say that loudly, but JoePa gets sick of the "Perry went to the ballgame, a record is sure to follow!" or Perry is growing his hair, must be near a release date!" I see his point.

Wrong. First and foremost he is my all-time favorite singer. No one has been able to knock him out of that #1 slot vocally, period. Just happens to be a classy guy and easy on the eyes for almost 60. 95% of us see an outing at a ballgame for what it is. DO NOT lump us all into one category! And you guys don't think with your meat? Give me a break. Just cuz JoePa's got an itch he can't seem to scratch......not our problem.

It's true Deb, and you can't deny it. You just said it. He's easy on the eyes. You don't care how well he can sing, you just want to jam a Chiquita up there and fantasize. Hey, I get it, and I understand too.

Ok, let me try again.

Perry is the indesputed best singer ever(save Elvis). He is a goodlooking dude. However, I AM saying you women get all itchy down there in your caves and that's fine, but don't make that the only reason you fawn....

He is a handsome man. End of story. The fact that he can sing like no one else is just icing on the cake. Would I leave my life for him? HELL NO! I worked to hard to get where I am to leave any of it for ANY man.

He is a very gifted and talented man who made the choices that were right for him. SP is a man like any man on this board. I am sure there are times when he thinks with the wrong head too.

Ding Ding Ding.

For some/many, it can never not be mentioned so it dims their credibility, unfortunately.

You know in a twisted way it makes me admire posts of loons like those of Linus, who rarely if EVER have to go into the cringe worthy arena of his looks.

It's almost like they think IF he's reading this I HAVE to get that in there, even if just a constant throwaway aside comment.

I guess I'll just never understand you JoePa. :? How come when a woman mentioned JSS' stage presence they lose credibility but if I guy mentions it they don't? Or at least you've never posted to that affect. Why do you get such a burr in your bonnett when a woman mentions a rockstars stage presence or looks. :? Are we only allowed to appreciate them for their vocal talent and that's it. Sorry, but their delivery is a huge part of loving a voice. Besides, pretty sure Perry doesn't read MR.

Much like I'll never understand your insatiable need to constantly remark on the looks of these artist we talk about here. Call it jealousy if you want, I don't care.
Backtalk for years here has been skewered for the very female fawining over Augeri that goes on here with some posters, present company included, over Perry and JSS. What is good for the goose, has got to be good for the gander.

I'm not the only one, just the most vocal about it.

I continue to point to FrankStrangeGrey's brilliant manifesto, "Uggghh! Fuckin' BackTalk, I'm DONE" as the embodiment of the frustration that comes from having to read an incessant undercurrent of fawning.

I rarely remark on looks, although I do comment on stage presence and delivery. You don't have to be gorgeous to deliver a passionate performance. Sorry but in a live setting, delivery and stage presence is a big part of my musical enjoyment. And I won't apologize for that. :)

I agree with you on the HAVING to mention it thing, but "cringe worthy"? Awwww, can we all be nice at least for today?
It's his BIRTHDAY for fuck's sake. I think of plenty more deserving of cringe-worthy than him, too. But it's not the point of the thread so I won't go there this time.

For clarification, I wasn't calling NostrilFace cringeworthy (decent-looking guy perry, not the Clark Gable you would expect reading the online postings of the battery wearerouters but nice-looking), but the drumbeat of fawining over looks.

And believe me, the Debs of the fawning world keep it classy at least. There was a lowebb time in this place where we had the SexyMofos and Susie's of the world constantly spamming with the joint with disgusting pics focusing on male nether regions and using weird emoticons and gimmicks to accentuate them and we are a long way from those dark days.

Alright, I censored my last post so as not to defile the bday thread with penis talk, but since you both went there, I guess all bets are off.  The fact is, you'd think he was the first and only guy to have one the way some folks pedastalize it and it's owner.
