Gore is just as bad if not worse than most of the rest of them.

Rick wrote:Easy there pilgrim. I took a plane ride with Mr. Gore from Dallas down to New Orleans. It was a plane ride on an American Airlines plane that he chartered to help evacuate Katrina victims. We carried many tons of relief supplies down that he worked side by side with all of us to unload and carry into the terminal building. He worked and acted just like the rest of us. While I don't always agree with his politics, he sure won my favor that day. He was a very hard working, friendly, genuine dude. He chartered many more, but I was lucky enough to go on that one.

I'm almost always skeptical when politicians do things like this. Gore has always seemed like a publicity hound to me.

Hey, Rick -- no disrespect... that's super cool that you had a great experience with him, but there are way too many other stories about Gore to the contrary for me to accept that as the "real" Al Gore (he's the king of "reinventing" himself when it serves him politically). I'll lay off of him, but I pretty much agree with CPC...

I hear he's pretty well liked by Bhuddist Monks!

Al Gore is a great man.

Yes, Al Gore is a good guy.
He was ripped off in 2000, when all those Democrat chads and absentee votes disappeared "mysteriously" in the Everglades.
The Governor of Florida should have investigated that...err... :!:

No one running right now has the experience of Hillary. No one else lived history in the White House for eight years..and she has been a very productive and well liked Senator here in NY.
She is the best qualified.
Peace all,

Hell I wanted Edwards as Vice last election and that was ripped away by the 51% percent of the US that are... what's the word... "insane". I wouldn't even mind seeing JE in the top spot, but it's pretty clear that the nom is going to either Clinton or Obama, but either of them could do worse than Edwards in the Vice department. I like him.

I swear, I hear "Huckabee" and I picture a brand of honey or jelly or something - with little bumble bees on the label, like Sue-Bee. Huckabee Preserves. President Huckabee? President Mitt?

President Clinton - we already know that one works.

Here's my dream ticket. I've had enough of the Clintons. Eight years was plenty.

Image

In most polls that I've regarding for the General Election, McCain would beat Clinton by a few points, and Obama would beat McCain by a few points. We don't need another pro-war president. Vote Obama!

Talk about irony. Just today, Ted Kennedy's staff revealed that Ted will be endorsing Obama. However, here's a clip from a few months back where Ted referred to Obama as Osama:

Some people on here have to be voting for one issue(guns, religion, what you perceive as lower taxes, warmongering, etc.) without even knowing or caring about the further repercussions of your vote.

For example: You don't want tighter gun laws so you ignore the outrageous health care prices. Or, maybe you want what you mistakenly perceive to be lower taxes so you ignore the huge budget deficit and actual economic repercussions. You may even think you have to vote republican because your family always has or your minister tells you you should if you're Christian so you don't know that is the party that sold your job to China. A few actually seem to be aware of the information that's out there, but are apparently unwilling or unable to interpret the actual meaning of it.

Whatever the reason, the readily available information that Daniel, Dean and I have posted in the last week that some are clearly unaware of proves that you're not making informed choices. We shouldn't have to post links. If you were truly informed voters you'd know the same things we do. If you know them and still want to vote republican, it may just be a hopeless situation for this country.

It's really frightening that the American election may very well be based on uninformed or blindly preconceived notions.

You apparently don't pay a damn bit of attention to anything anyone says around here. I've stated numerous times here that I don't like Rush and have only listened to his show maybe three or four times and I've never managed to make it all the way through the show even then. Pay attention a little better this time.

Well, for starters, he jets around the county emitting more carbon than probably 100 families combined (probably more) and lectures everyone else about how they should reduce their own carbon emissions. His own home in Tennessee is far less energy efficient than even George Bush's home in Texas.

His "documentary" has more holes than the ozone layer and even the government in Great Britain issued a declaration that if the film was to be shown in schools, they had to notify the students of the at least eleven different lies in the movie.

He jets around the world lecturing others to do what even he is not willing to do and then expects people to shell out money in the form of literally billions of dollars in taxes to implement so-called solutions that may or may not work depending on which government-funded scientist you want to believe or whatever science is the preferred flavor of the day.

He also supports this carbon credit garbage, which is nothing more than a fatcat's attempt at making themselves feel better about all the damage they are doing to the environment in the name of supposedly fixing it.

It may be the description of some Democrats but I know it doesn't apply to me, Dean, Daniel, BJG or several others on here because of the factual information in their posts. I also know that it DOES apply to several of the reps on here because when we post information they are apparently clueless about what we posted and/or ask for links as proof of our soursces.

The things that I'm aware of, that I know Deans's aware of, and I'm assuming this applies to Daniel too based on the things he's posted, aren't always things we just read about on some website, heard on some recent, current news or gossip show, or recently read in some publication.

I stay as informed on this stuff as I reasonably can without having it consume my life(which it could). This is important to me. I have children, grandchildren, and hopefully I will have great-grandchildren, who deserve a good, free, green life in this country.

At least I'm not equating you libs with rapists like you did the other day. Boy, that was constructive, wasn't it?

Here's an interesting article on Gore's hypocrisy...

http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/ed ... reen_x.htm

Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.

Then there is the troubling matter of his energy use. In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.

But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. When contacted Wednesday, Gore's office confirmed as much but said the Gores were looking into making the switch at both homes. Talk about inconvenient truths.
