Ixnay. At least not until post 2010. They bit off a bit much in the past five years and some plans are being put on the back burner, most of those being new tracks. Most of the speedway owners made an agreement with themselves and Nascar that it would be better to rejuvenate the tracks they have, upkeep them, and let expansion fall here or there. Plus, most of the teams/drivers are happy with the schedule. But NY won't be getting a track, soon if at all, the land they were looking into fell through. That's what I was told.

California should give up it's fall race and give it to Darlington. That is just bewildering, that Darlington has no race.

That and the fact that some idiots near the proposed site would rather have another shipping/industrial pier owned by God-knows-who, shipping/manufacturing God-knows-what, employing God-knows-how-many-illegal-immigrants, than have hundreds of jobs created, a recreational area that the entire community can use with several parks/ball fields and retail outlets, tickets/parking to go to local residents first, and an improved/added commuting system for those outside of the immediate area to travel to the 3 racing events that would be held there each year (specifically with the purpose of reducing any negative traffic impact that the track would have on the area).

Oh, yeah, I'd take another crappy shipping/industrial pier over that...

Hell, I was all ready to buy my season tickets!

Mother's Day weekend. What should happen is Cali keep both of it's dates since the turnout and exposure is awesome, but shuffle the fall date with Phoenix, bumping Pheonix to one race, and giving Darlington back the Southern 500. Fontana's a good track. Cookie-cutter, but good.

I Hate that phrase "Cali." No one here uses it.

Anyway, Calif attendance, especially in the Fall, is not good. 120,000 out of 150,000 is not good.

Which is why I said give that date back to Darlington, leaving Darlington with two. I didn't realize Fontana's attendance was that off. Probably because out there some people say: "I can't go to the race, it's Labor Day." When in the South we said: "Wonder if you can still climb up the backside of the granstands, that damn Mountain Dew Southern 500 is sold out again! For the 50th straight race!" (Which by the way, you could at one time climb the back of the grandstands and have a pretty decent view of the egg.

CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI CALI   :P

Gary, remember last year in the chase, it was a RP track, where JJ and JG stayed in the back, and just logged laps, until there was 15-20 laps to go, and made their push. JG won and JJ got second. JJ went on to win 4 straight after that.

My point is, you think they will do this in Daytona? I know JJ has the pole, so he might get his 5 bonus points and fall back. Yea? Nay?

I remember that, it was Talladega in October. I don't know if they'll do that again or not. I know it worked great for them, but the Ford teams did the same thing, yet my guy (Kenseth) STILL got caught up in a wreck. It's just a crapshoot I'm afraid. That's another reason I'm not big on restrictor plate racing. You're too dependent on other drivers. (Kenseth always asks if he still has that bumper sticker on the back of his car "Don't Draft With Me") lol. I know the races can be dramatic as hell, but even though I think my guy is WAY overdue for a plate win, I still don't like them. But you can bet I'll be watching. Just like I'll be at Fontana next week. A place I call the "Dump". I hate it. But it's too close to ignore.

BTW, did you know you can get your driver's radio on your computer during the race?

No, I was born yesterday in Guam  If you have Sirius you can do it too.

The thing about Hendrick, is they have 4 horses to help each other out. How do you think Jr won last week? Johnson pushed him to the front.

I really think what JJ and JG did last year was brilliant, but boring. JJ lost by an inch. Can you imagine, if Grodo doesnt make that great move to slide in front of Tony, JJ wins 5 in a row. I keep waiting for somethin bad to happen to them, but they keep winning.

Well, you didn't know what track that was at, so I thought you were a rookie. I keep hearing about these people who DVR the race so they can skip the commercials. How the hell does that work with the team radio?
Anyway, about the strategy. I know Jarrett's done that a lot. And it used to even be by choice, lol. But you know their sponsors want them up front on TV. And they can wreck anytime, anywhere. Like I said the Fords did the same thing. But after spending all that time in obscurity, Kenseth still got wrecked when he finally went to the front. So he didn't even get a TV kiss before he got fucked. I'll agree being a Hendrick car is worth something though. I'm more interested to see how the other teams compare to them when we get to the REAL races.
BTW, I just left a guy who's leaving tomorrow for Daytona. He's taking one of my scanners. "A bad day at the track is better than a good day at work."

Have fun dude, but gotta tell ya, Jr isn't winning this or any other race for a long time. He sucks. He is the 4th best driver in his own stable.

But seriously, have fun, and no throwing Coke cans at the 48 when he wins!

Those Toyotas look awfully strong! After the duals, Tony's car reportedly chassis dynoed 15 horsepower more than the Hendrick car, 30 more than the RCR's. In a restrictor plate engine, that is HUGE. No word on the Fords or Dodges, which I assume were even worse. The Toyota and Chevrolet engines were new last year, while the new Dodge won't be out until later this year, and the new Ford until next year.

I am totally psyched for NASCAR to restart!

Even though I can't stand anyone with a "J" anywhere in their name, you can't beat the excitement.

Me? I'm pretty much one of the Allstate ladies that would hit Kasey Kahne in a split second! :D

I can't wait to see what they do with the Bud sponsorship in the commercials!

LOL... this guy sucks. He is the most popular driver in the sport and hasn't won a race in 2+ years.

He might get a win or maybe 2 this year, because of Hendrick, but he isn't half the driver Johnson or Gordon are.

Between Rainbow and Johnson - Johnson is the better driver. The guy has the brains and the guts to do what he has to do without whining.

Jr. on the other hand made me alot of money last year with blown engines. I think things are going to turn around this year, starting tomorrow.

I LOVE JJ, but I hate Gordon. Make sense? No, of course not. Gordon is a pussy. Remember last year when he wouldn't move the 48 at Martinsville?

JJ is the absolute best driver and coincidentally has the best CC in Knaus. = Championship.

I seen Gordo make a total flippin ass out of himself last yr at Concord (Charlotte). The funny thing is his little jack assed tirade didn't make it on TV. I always wonder why it didn't. Bad for the overall image I guess.

Jersey, has a bit more than the "Boss" going for it.
I have fond memories of the shore & Englishtown races.

asked to go back to NY & never come back.,..

As long as it wasn't Stewart. What an asshole he was to Krista Voda. The networks ought to just tell Home Depot they are no longer going to interview their spoiled brat of a driver. See how that goes over.

RWF, I am starting to agree with you more and more!

Only the World Cup and Super Bowl are as exciting as the NHL playoffs. Bring it on!

P.S. Go Bruins!!!!

Now there's some matches! Who's makin it this time around? The only ball matches I get down here are on the spanish channels and I can only handle so much of the rapid fire language shooting forth from the speakers. lol Might have to look you up when time comes. Not many people on the net willing to talk roundball. ha!

By-the-by... the US is very weak in defense right now and shooters are having problems hitting the broadside of the barn. IF we make it in, they'll have to whip out some huge heart to make it out of the first round.
