Do I get laughed at by some of my friends in college when I tell them that I LOVE Journey? Yes! Does the same apply when I say I love Styx, Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, Van Halen & Aerosmith as well? YES! But why should I care, their loss, not mine.

I will be playin this music till the day I die, and hopefully will have the opportunity to play it in some public forum, like classic rock radio. And, maybe, if I am lucky, I am inspire more people my age to make GOOD music like it in the future. Plus, unfortunately there will be a day when all that COULD exists are pure cover bands. It not just my job, but that of all rockers my age, to make sure that these Journey (and Styx, Def Lep, REO, etc.) songs continue to be played live well into the next century and beyond.

I feel like a presidential candidate for the I WANNA ROCK Party.

No-one should be allowed to laugh at you for listening to Aerosmith and especially Van Halen.

Give me their names and phone numbers, and they'll be wearing cement shoes within 48 hours!

I can see all the young twenty somethings thinking to themselves "What the hell is a 33". Sadly, they're probably asking the same thing about casettes! To say nothing about that cutting edge technology that was 8-track tapes

And I'm next to the oldest at only a little more than 10 months younger than the Perry man himself.

I have no problem at all with the young and/or come-lately fans that have come onboard with Arnel, anymore than I had a problem with those who came on with Augeri or JSS.

What I do take exception to however is those new fans who try to belittle or even negate the importance of the contributions of those who came before and the opinions and feelings of the fans of those previous lineups.

The one thing every new fan of every new line up needs to remember and respect is that those songs you're hearing at those concerts(and the ones you'll be buying on that knockoff CD  ) wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for Perry. It's his voice and singing style they're trying to replicate in order to try and stay relevant. As for us "oldie" fans, if we hadn't been around back then they wouldn't be around today.

Our tenure has earned us the right to critique, accept or reject any new member of the band.

Nah... A few of us have youngins that we just don't allow to post here. Ha! I think li'l Wyatt is the youngest (though I think he's currently schooling in Adams and Bruce).

My 17 y/o I allow to read (not posting fer him) and the 5 y/o twisted sister reads some of them (though she asks far too many questions about the avatars for me to allow it a lot of the time) and at times has responses of her own.

Like the others, I'm glad to see so many youngins coming on over to the RIGHT side of music! Rock on young peeps, it'll keep us all young! 8)

i had the same car there for a while as the one billy madison drove,i guess you'd call it the 'smokey and the bandit' car,i saw in the movie where he gets made fun of for the car and listening to billy squier and that could be very far from true to in real life for me.everywhere i went i cranked shit like aerosmith, motley crue, etc. and every day i had teenagers begging me to sell them my car, ride them through the school or just ride around.when my second child was born after being asked a thousand times i finally broke down and sold it to a factory worker who begged forever to buy it and he bought it wrecked and all.the day my son was born in november of '05 some damn idiot backing out at the bank hit me and the funny thing was that was the very day i decided to sell the damn thing.but i did sue the shit out of dude for physical and property damage.anyway what i'm saying is don't worry about what these young snappers like today because it doesn't hold a candle to to the great shit that once ruled and really still does.

Well, simply put, he's my boy and the first one to cut loose on the boy and call him any of the "terms" I've seen thrown around here would be torn a new asshole and Andrew would most likely give me the boot.

Actually, he hasn't asked, he's a very mellow kid. He has full access to my system and this board. If he ever so chooses to post here, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Settle down kiddo, I've not got my kid on a short leash.

Welcome Nick. I am one of the old ones too. But I look at it as being one of the lucky ones. Seeing them in concert back then was unbelievable. The Houston concerts were the absolute best. Something I will never forget and feel lucky to have been a part of. :D
