Yep, and my Great-grandfather just died two years ago! We were a five generation family!

Thank you everyone! I appreciate your kind words!

Well I just got back from driving my car around and stopped at a Mexican food joint right before they closed to get some take-out. When I got home, there was a message on my answering machine from my parents. My dad and their dog got bit by a pit bull from a neighbor behind them. When my dad made it back home, he heard two gun shots. The neighbor killed his dog. My mom, although pissed that dad and dog got bit, feels sorry for the dog. She feels it's the owner's fault and not the dog. She's an animal lover like me. My dad is at the police station now and when he gets home, he's supposed to call me so I can take him to the hospital.

Dear Lord, Ken. Hope all is well with your dad, man. And I agree, the owner is at fault for not properly leashing and/or training his dog. :x

I'm glad your dad is ok bro. One of those strange nights. You can never predict what's going to happen. I hate to hear the animal got put down, but an animal that attacks people isn't a good pet. I feel sorry for the dog though, it wasn't his fault.

The exact thing happened on my street this week, a lady and her dog were attacked by 2 pit bulls that belonged to another neighbor.
The little dog was killed and the woman ran back home safely, the owner says he took the dogs to the pound but no one believes him. These
dogs are not a good breed to be near other neighbors. :?

Him hiding the trash lady's bag was ther best though. She laughed too.

And just two days ago to a friend of mine. He needed a ride to work and told the person he was riding with that he would walk 4 blocks to the main road so as to alleviate confusion finding his house. He started walking and noticed some neighbors trash had been gotten in to and then noticed a pit bull in that yard, and then another appeared. Before long he had to scale a brick wall to get away from them as they were nipping at his heals. Those dogs had pulled one of those screw anchors out of the ground and were dragging it with them. If not for that chain attached to both of those dogs and to the screw anchor, my friend might not be here today.

Loose big mean dogs are a hazard. I saw a mom and toddler afraid to move off a street curb due to 2 large pits loose on the other side. I used my car as a moving wall to block the dogs from them and escorted her across.

Then came back to see where the dogs ended up going and called animal control.

When I introduce you, I'm gonna say, "This is a friend of mine." That means you're a connected guy. Now if I said instead, "this is a friend of ours", that would mean you a made guy.

Sorry to hear about your Granny, Nat. Ken, best wishes for your Daddy.

It's Saturday night and I just got back from Bristol where I decided NOT to go to the race (it was raining anyway) and had dinner with my Daddy on his way through town. Drove back to my hometown. That's about it. Refused many calls and texts offering green beer, but since I'm not Irish and still drunk from Vegas, I passed on it.

I like the original Grease the best. Grease 2 is like skim milk. Sure, it's milk, but it's weird. :P

Just built a stealth bomber model with my son. We painted it for three days, and finally put it together tonight.

And we were listening to Richard Marx.

Seriously! I love that guy's music...as long as he's not trying to "rock out".
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Ha, ha, too much Barry love in other thread for me to lob a dirty bomb in. Richard Marx gave me the opening over here. These two threads are about to merge.

Nothing goes better together than Grease and Manilow. :D

But wait, you don't like Rush but you like Manilow? You got some splainin to do.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for my dad. He said the cops were really interested when he told them that the guy shot his dog. Looks like he'll be in more trouble for that, than letting it run loose and biting my dad and his dog. Dad needed a couple of stitches in his hand. The ER was interesting to say the least. Pregnant lady came in screaming to high heaven, then was sent home 2 hours later for false labor. Then some chick came in and puked all over the place. Gotta love the smell of fresh vomit.......NOT!!

damn what a saturday night! went out with some pals and ended up at the bar at Mellow Mushroom. Had a live band playing and no shit-when I walked in they began to play Faithfully!!!! It must be the energy I put out... Anyway there was this guy there and he was HAMMERED! Normally I could give 2 shits about this but this idiot had his 3 year old son with him!!!! It was nearly midnight and the kid is just sitting there. The bar had already cut "dad" off and he was just hanging. Come to find out someone had dropped him and his kid off and left. He was stuck there so he got ripped with his kid at a bar. Guy had no idea how he was getting home nor did he care. I was really starting to get pissed when a friend of mine went to him and told him he was fucking taking him home. He helped him up along with the manager, put him in his car and drove off. Came back a while later and I bought him a couple of drinks for being cool. I just hope this guy is not a full time dad. Anyway, left there at 1am, went to Club Liquid and "got my freak on" till 4am. Man, the ladies were out in full force last night....

Ah, yes. Good old "Mandy". I think that song was the anthem for every woman named Amanda, until Boston trumped Barry with their release of "Amanda". More Barry song facts on this dreadful track :)

Scott English wrote the lyrics and recorded it in 1971 as "Brandy." His version was a hit in the UK. In the US, this was changed to "Mandy" to avoid confusion with the Looking Glass hit "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)."

Richard Kerr wrote the music. Kerr is a pianist who teamed up with Will Jennings to write 2 more hits for Manilow: "Looks Like We Made It" and "Somewhere In The Night."

This was Manilow's first hit single and the first song on Clive Davis' Arista Records label (formerly Bell) to hit the Billboard Hot 100.

The bit about "Mandy" being about Manilow's dog is an urban myth. Songwriter and original performer Scott English says he was woken by a phone call from a reporter, wanting to know who "Brandy" was. "I would have said anything to get rid of him," says English, "So I spat out the first thing that came to mind: It was about a dog like Lassie and I had sent her away - now you go away!' And I hung up on him."

The Simpsons parodied this in the episode in which Homer feels torn between his attractive new co-worker (Mindy) and his own wife. They were in a hotel room together, and a turkey slips behind the bed. Later, when Homer brings Marge to the room, he starts singing to her, "Oh, Margie, you came and you found me a turkey."
