Dude, Can you change back to Dwight? That AV looks like the creature from the black lagoon or something! Took me a long tome to figure out it was SS

Tough to replace SS, but I'll work on it.

I was there as well last night, Perfect review Matthew, I think you hit the nail right on the head.

Brilliant show, brilliant atmosphere. I also saw last years show with JSS. Its tough to compare the two. I enjoyed JSS performance a little more - mostly for the reasons you stated Matthew. Both shows had different strengths and a vastly different approach. I certainly noticed there was much more effort put into the lighting and the stage set this time around, which added to the atmosphere and created excitement . That really makes a difference.

One thing I might highlight is the awesome performance by Deen on Keep on Running and Mother , Father. Last nights performance of Mother, Father performance MIGHT be favorite Journey moment ever- and thats pretty bold statement!! I think I just closed my eyes and listened and man alive Deen sounded cool as hell!!!

Also, might put in a word for John Parr. I never thought I'd rate him, but I found myself enjoying his set immensely!! Nice little bonus suprise!

Great little international atmosphere as well- Philipino flags, Danish flags, and Italian flags waving around - and a few goofballs sprinting nonstop around the balcony with journey flags, made me think I was at the Eurovison song contest or something!

I was there as well. Nothing like being right up against the stage in front of Neal and Arnel. Great show. great music and what a terriffic audience. Another interesting tidbit, I understand Jimmy Page was at the show and watching from backstage.

Journey is definately back!!!!

Jimmy Page was definitely there. I bumped into him as he was chatting with John Parr and I had to ask him to step aside to let me through. I know Deen was really pumped up about that as well, and he put on the performance of his life on stage. I don't think I've ever seen him drumming with as much energy and power before.

Well they were stood in a doorway deep in conversation, and I didn't want to interrupt so I just mumbled 'excuse me' and ducked in between them.

He didnt move around a great deal and the stage antics were no more than what he usually does. His playing though was great- as good as I ever seen him- Certainly brought the house down in a couple of occasions- you could tell he was definitely swinging for the fences last night.

sounds like a good show, i guess we ll get the short version in the states, maybe they will only play 3 new ones and add partys over, where were you, i would love for neal a co lead like rolie used to , or do no more lies to give arnel a break in the set. they could easily rotate about 4/5 old songs and do 1 each night during or just before the encore to appease use old farts.

hey prog is that photo from ky speedway

Hi Moonbeam, I've been at work since just a few hours after the concert finished so I haven't had a chance to even look through the photos I took yet, but I did manage to upload half a dozen or so this morning.

Here they are....

It will take me a day or two to go through the rest and put together a proper slideshow, but watch this space.

Thank you. I bet he was focused on substance over stage presence and that made him stay a bit still. I'd like to hear what JP thought of the show, and more importantly, Neal's playing.
