Are you fucking shitting me, dude?
I think I could level the rolling plains of the Midwest and still come up short assembling a straw argument anything like that.

For those who have managed to read down this far without losing their grip on sanity, please avert your attention to RedWing’s post above.
Therein you will witness firsthand a textbook example of a lecherous GOP whore unbound by principle or truth.

Rather than slinging more politically-charged red herrings (Wellstone, Katrina), put down the chum bucket and politely step out of the line of fire.
Your strawberry dental dam-thin arguments simply aren’t worth the keystrokes.

For the record, whatever blame was ascribed to Mayor Nagin and Bush in the days following Katrina (minus the Kanye West sort) was pretty accurate.

I agree with you 100% and you're one hell of a writer. "...put down the chum bucket and politely step out of the line of fire." CLASSIC!

Typical "strategy" of the left...play upon the ignorance of the public through a very targeted and deliberate "smear" campaign which spreads falsehoods about the Republican agenda.

Sad part is...our country is going to fall for it. No way a Republican gets elected. No way.

Just not "cool" enough.

The Republicans may make it back in, McCain stands a strong chance of beating Obama. That shows just how completely inept this country's political system has become. The Republicans have all but destroyed this country's economy and reputation throughout the world and still stands a good chance of winning the presidency and giving us 4 more years of it up the tailpipe.

So don't fret Tom. :D

I'm sure you really believe that too.

Do the words "hook, line, and sinker" mean anything to you?

CNN, MSNBC, Moveon.org, etc. wouldn't print it if it wasn't the truth eh?

Our country is doomed.

I think Obamas mistake was making such a pledge in the 1st place.....does he keep his word and get slaughtered by the 527's throught the 60 days before the election without being able to respond or does he renig ????

It's a no-win situation for him, his decision gives him a "fighting" chance in the election. Unfortunately, with no way to limit 527's other than how much cash they have on hand, he really had no choice, except not to make that pledge at all.

Too bad Obama's commitment was contingent on McCain also accepting public funds.
McCain has been all over the map with this.

Very much like the political party you purportedly swear no allegiance to, you offer zero accountability.

I admitted ANY death is a tragedy, but while death may be not proud, it doesn't compel me to think any higher of Tim Russert the journalist.
As the moderator of the gold standard for all political talk, and as a shepherd of the quadrennial rite of civic participation known as presidential elections, he was an abject failure.
Fielding outraged calls from my free-thinking Conservative friends over this past year only affirmed I was in good company.

How you somehow compare exercising my prerogative as a viewer to criticize a public figure, to you turning one of the darkest days in America into some cheap political talking point is beyond confounding, it’s downright ghoulish.

Misconstrue my comments all you like, but I never attempted to use Russert’s death as a bludgeon with which to hammer my ideological counterparts.
In fact, I never once accused Russert of being right, left, or whatever.

I ask again..where do you get off trivializing the fiery deaths of 2,740 of your fellow citizens - not to mention the thousands now respiratory compromised?

TNC, you've become a real asshole lately. I in no way trivialized the deaths of any citizens. You'll never see me saying that I am relieved at the death of a decent person, constantly using the race card, or degrading and demeaning everybody but those who hold the same beliefs you do. I thought Ohsherrie was out of control but you've become far more insidious, hateful, and spiteful than she ever was. Take your homophobic, overwrought, and misplaced anger and cram them up your ass, because that's apparently where they're coming from in the first place.

The only people who visibly trade in conspiracies are your paranoid lot, who come here and mindlessly blame every toil of every day on the political left.

My brother sent me this and I reread it from time to time- seems appropriate to include it now:

In Just One Year

This email comes in three parts:

Part 1:
In just one year. Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with
what's handed to him.

Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics
enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html
Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates It is amazing
how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing
them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary
are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good
portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it
to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam
somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy, am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the
Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be
RIDICULOUS.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they
are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have

I don’t know what kind of person Tim Russert was.
My criticism stemmed only from the limited prism which I knew him - as a journalist.
In that limited respect, he blew.
For me to say anything less would be engaging in the very sort of liberal political correctness you inveigh against daily.

You really are too much...I wouldn't waterboard you dude...laugh at you sure...no use is sullying my nice tailgate with you...

Number 1, I am a libertarian...not a republican...fuck who ya want, take all the drugs you want, keep the country safe by any means, and stay out of my wallet as much as possible. Not a lot to ask...

Number 2, You didn't correct shit. You bloviated upon some obscure news source and used another OPINION to back yours, as you usually do, and called it fact.

Number 3, you are the WORST debater I have ever met. You launch automatically in to ad hominem, and set up strawmen throughout your posts. God what I wouldn't give to get you on a stage have a REALLY debate with you on politics or Journey.

Number 4, no one keeps score, because you aren't even playing the same game as everyone else here. In your MIND you think "I am winning" when in fact you show a woeful grasp of the realities of life and how the world works and your obvious lack of character and knowledge makes you the laughing stock of the forums for most people.

Now let's correct your pathetic grasp of the English language...it YOUR not you're when talking about a fictional claim...which is only fictional in your eyes.

Get a life and grow up please, you are an embarassment to yourself, really.

FIVE HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS and climbing. With that money, the other figures that were mentioned could have been wiped away.

FIVE HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS and climbing. With that money, the other figures that were mentioned could have been wiped away.

So what's your solution? Leave them alone and let them come back over here and blow up more buildings and kill more of our people ON OUR SOIL?

Don't be dense...the Islamofascists that want to force Sharia Law on us, and turn the world into a vast Muslim state...you know...they're the people that flew planes into the World Trade Center? Or have you been absent since 2001?

I've been watching you guys go at it for several weeks now. Trying to be sensible and non-partisan about it. Everyone makes a few good points here and there. But the TNC dude just comes off as petty and bitter. He might make a halfway decent op-ed columnist in a college newspaper, but he's clearly outclassed by the majority of folks who disagree with him. Both in cogency and most certainly in grasp of reality.

Anyway that's been my observation. It's been fun, thanks.
