Hey, as for blowing a voice out...... If Triumph do a full tour, I am seriously worried about Rik at his age. :?

Have you listened to What it takes to win? Sounds like he has a low end to me.

Worst song on the album. Reminds me of an arm wrestling movie. What I am talking about is how Steve Perry can sing like Sam Cooke and the Trial By Fire Album. Think about the song "Homemade Love". I don't hear Arnel in that. I like him, but he is no clone.

Yeah, my least favorite too. I get what you're saying now.

To me Arnel sounds like Survivor and the new songs seem to be written around that style. If he was singing for Survivor maybe I wouldn't care for it but since it's Journey, anything that differentiates him from a Perry clone is fine.

I know that the drama of this board is Steve Perry. There are the Perry lovers, the Perry haters, and then there's a few that are ambivalent. What I can't wrap my head around is this. Yes Journey existed before Perry and I think that gives Neal and Ross some degree of carte blanche to have other lead singers afterwards. And yes Perry took Journey to the top. But Journey also took Perry to the top. It's a band. The band is still around and the door was open to Perry. Hell it may even still be open. But Perry doesn't want to walk through that door. That's fine, that's his business. I think you can still be a Steve Perry fan and respect the other members of the band that want to carry on. For my part, I think Arnel is a fine singer who can sing the Perry era songs very well. And I think Journey has shown in the post Perry era that they can still write. I LOVE Faith in the Heartland and some of the new tracks on Revelation are great. So I think what we might see, if we're lucky is new songs to love that will be Arnel's (like Faith in the Heartland will always be Augeri's). And whether he wants to admit it or not, the best thing that could happen to Steve Perry today is Arnel Pineda. All this Journey talk is selling albums and Perry has a lot of writing credits on those albums. Cha ching. Steve Perry was born in 1949. That makes him 59 years old. Does anyone think he could belt out those tunes better today than Pineda who is almost 20 years his junior?
