It's always people who have never experienced snow who are fascinated by it. I can tell you as a grizzled veteran of over 35 New England winters that snow outlives its usefulness after about the age of 12! Snow is a great thing if you have zero responsibility in the world, don't have to drive in it, don't have to shovel it, and pretty much never leave your house! Other than that, it's a MAJOR pain in the ass!

Come on...she lives in Canada! I'm pretty sure you might be able to do the house exchange for Labor Day, and already have a foot of snow on the ground

We got 3 inches last year and I was out sledding with the kids. That only happens every 5 years or so, so I have never had to shovel, and I AM grateful for that.

Yes, if it's dry, and it is. We have level Orange pollution watch days lately also.

You get the fire warnings I guess like we do?

I remember Lackland AFB, my father was stationed at Kelly AFB in the 80's when we lived there. I think Kelly is gone now though.

Yep, we get them more often when it's windy and dry.

Kelly is part of Lackland now I think.

Yeah I think they were basically next to each other if I remember right, lol. I would have finished high school in San Antonio but we got sent to Japan instead, lol.

Rick is right, Kelly got annexed by Lackland. I believe Brooks AFB is still around but it's a little bit outside of S.A. if I remember right.

Yeah I remember them being near each other, just that Lackland didn't have the flight line, lol. My brother spent a lot of time at the hospital on Lackland though (asthma), Wilford Hall Medical Center if I remember the name right 8)

I'm hoping this hurricane will bring much needed rain to West Texas--y'all further south and east get to have to put up with fire ants though, if it rains, so jeez, you can't win for losing. Summer in Texas............

Currently 69 degrees with an expected high of 78. *Points at Lynn, Mel, Rick, Gayle, Jen, Debbie, and everyone else roasting their buns and snickers.* :P

I'll pay for that this weekend. I saw the Dallas highs are 103 pretty much Friday through Sunday.

Yeah, it's gonna be hot in San Antonio on Friday unless the hurricane cools things off a little.

Don't think its been a cardinal day everyday this summer. My commute home is like sitting in traffic on the highway to hell sometimes. I really enjoy these milder days... (she says knowing full well in a few months she'll be bitching about the sub-freezing temps)... :P

Oh well, that's what the drinks are for, right? And the bounce house, too!

The traffic here is hell also, took me over an hour to get home yesterday, detours because of construction, construction, & more construction :x Granted I live 25 miles from where I work, but still shouldn't take over an hour

The bounce house...good thing I've kept my workouts up despite the heat
