You're quite a character! Never anything good to say, just constantly baiting & trying to spoil what others may actually find entertaining. Simply amazing!

Relax! I'm messing with both Debs.

yup---I have told EVERYONE that LITT is one of my top 3 fav cds EVAH so it's a tuff call. I really really like this groove he's in, though, so I am definitely leaning.

I like that he doesn't rest on his laurels, though. Some bands can't get away with it. Journey, for instance, I don't think can mess around too much with their sound because it is so associated with them.

yup. JSS has so many sounds! But I think this is the PERFECT meld--it is really JSS. It's what I hear anyway each time I hear him. I always thought that there was something there that I couldn't quite hear. now I hear it. and smile :D

p.s. each of his albums has just one or two songs or just a little funky soul-y smack sneaked in somewhere so this sound was inevitable. thankfully!

(that was the worst grammar I have ever seen) :?

I'm about to ask a question, and I hope it doesn't sound TOO sarcastic/negative.....

Is the Cd REALLY that good, or are people talking themselves into liking it because it is JSS (cause he was in Journey for a nano-second)?

I think Red 13 and Generations suffered from this phenomenon as well....but that's just me.

Just for the record, I like SMFP, but I don't like everything he's ever done....I thought FTLOSM was god-awful.

Just asking....

Just saying....

I haven't heard the whole album but the one song from this thread is decent. That being said, I think "Generations" is better than average and I really like "Red 13". I also like "For the Love of Strange Medicine".

I'll give you my honest opinion. I liked Prism and Lost in translation, because they are what I Consider Melodic Rock, they would fit right in with everything else in the mid 80's. I'm not digging the new CD, I don't like the new direction it's going musically. I'll stick with the other two I mentioned. Then again I wasn't floored by Revelation and the only solo song I like by Steve Perry is "Don't fight it" (probably because of the creative and musical input from Loggins and Neil Giraldo). So that's my honest opinion for what it's worth.

P.S. Don't trust anything the women reviewers say, J.S.S. has some kind of Puerto Rican Vodoo spell that seems to work on them so anything the chica's say might be under mystical duress.
