Damn it, I hope Wal-Mart STILL has not released their sales figures because with 70% reported on the Daily Double, Journey is not listed in the top 50!!!!!!!!!!

#50 only sold 5,000 units. I don't think "Revelation" dropped that much.

The numbers I have been keeping show Journey at 459,865 units sold. RIAA criteria is 919,730!! Now I have noticed that my numbers have been different than the ones reported here. And all reporting has the possibility of +/- .

Jordan started out as my fave when I was... ummm *coughs* four years old.
By the time I got to second grade, he was growing a beard. That was the end of it. Jon was always my second favorite... and he's definitely aged the best. Joe's looking mighty fine too. (I'm so embarrassed. ) 8)

My numbers are a little different than jrnyman28's -- 903,756, but I suspect that his numbers (being higher) are closer to the actual number.

So we're in the home stretch now: closing in on platinum. At the current sales rate, 'Revelation' will hit (unofficial) platinum sometime between Oct. 15th and Oct. 29th. Absolutely amazing ....

The sales figures over the concert tour do seem to confirm one thing: when Journey played more of the bigger venues -- 20,000-seats +, during mid-August into September -- the CD sales figures seemed to be supported. More concert tickets = more CDs sold. (And, likewise, maybe the reverse is true too.) There does seem to be a direct correlation between the two .....

There really hasn't been a material drop in the CD sales figures from Aug. 19th thru Sept. 16th. Check it out:

Aug. 19: 13,277
Aug. 26: 13,330
Sep. 02: 12,968
Sep. 09: 11,918
Sep. 16: 12,792

They're still cruising along. They have to be pretty happy with the results so far.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Staggering numbers. I still say that it will eventually go Double Platinum in the U.S (1 million packages sold). Depending on the next set of tour dates, which I predict will be through the winter months into the Asian leg of the tour in March, it might do that by the end of next year. Any sort of radio play by a song other than AATY (which has caught on quite nicely according to AC charts) and you'll see another spike in sales. This package has been wildly successful. And what a great tour in support of it. 3 solid acts.
