This is the same place Soul Sirkus played when they came to Chicago. It's a cool venue. I'd say capacity is about 250. SS probably had right around 125...or should I say Neal had 125.

 LMAO!!!
The whole fucking night the whispers through the crowd were "Do you think they'll play any Journey?!?!" And when they did, the place went up. Right then I knew the project was doomed. That, and they sucked.

You know Neal was thinking, "You know what I could buy with 300 grand?"

In all fairness, Neal looked very happy while playing. But then every once in a while you could almost hear him thinking "What is 125X$30?" Then he'd frown.

I reject responsibility. *I* know what I didn't mean by it, but I'll happily censor myself to keep pervies from commenting, if that will help. Go back to whatever the topic was and I'll shut up.

will Smitty out draw SS SJ? Seriously?
I think so. I'm guessing they fill the place up. I'll keep you posted. Again, I expect a fairly large Journey contingent as a percentage of the audience. Will let you know Friday morning.

I don't know...you might be a bit surprised with the crowd. Every time I've seen him in or around Philly, he's had a huge jazz following at the venues. Lots of old time hip cats and lots of musicians. Don't expect to hear the name Journey mentioned by the emcee that night. In fact, the first time I saw him, the table next to us was filled with two older couples who knew a lot about jazz and about Steve's jazz career. I overheard one of 'em say "I think he played with that 80's group Foreigner at one time." My wife had to restrain me.

Enjoy the show!

Oh yeah, one more thing...if you want to stay in his good graces that night, ease up on taking photos while he's playing. I've seen and heard him gesture a few times for people to cool it while he's playing. His roadie/tech guy told me that the flashes distract him.

I think you'll find your asking for his autograph while he's playing is distracting too.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
