Not really my favorite (not sure what one I would go with, I'm more of a TNG guy), but "Charlie X" comes to mind, if for no other reason than this scene:

Ok boys and girls...how did Khan, who never met a Klingon in his life (because he was frozen before first contact with them) know the old Klingon proverb about "revenge being a dish best served cold"? (It's very cold in space)

Didn't he spend a lot of time researching the ship and the history he missed out on after they unfroze him? That's how he knew how to take over... he likely learned the proverb there.

Liked just about all of the episodes...loved some of them.

Lines from these still stick in my head:

All Our Yesterdays
Amok Time
Elaan of Troyius

And the show where Robert Brown was a guest star.

I used to be a closet Trekkie, and went to many conventions in the 80's and early 90's. I always preferred STNG but TOS was OK, especially when they (almost) took it seriously. I hated the tribbles episodes etc but really liked The Menagerie and City on the Edge of Forever - pure science fiction. In fact City on the Edge of Forever I believe was written by Harlan Ellison, a respected SF author, and although parts were reworked for the screen, the quality in the plot shows.

I'm almost embarrassed to show this pic of me - a few years ago I hasten to add - with a friend in Klingon outfits we made from scratch. The woman we're holding up is Lorraine Kelly, a well known UK TV presenter.

Speaking of costumes I had been planning on being a TOS-uniformed Vulcan for Halloween but forgot to order the dress in time. D:

Maybe he read The Godfather in the original Klingon?
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Apparently the question should be,, how did Klingons get a hold of an old french book.,,, lol..

revenge is a dish best served cold
Etymology
Pierre Ambroise Francois Choderios de LaClos (1741-1803) is often credited with the phrase's invention, with his 1782 book Les Liasons Dangereuses containing the line

"La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid."

I'm going with the Tribbles episode also, because 1) they're cute and 2) its the only Star Trek "TOS" that I've ever seen. And I even had to ask someone what "TOS" meant when I read this.

The only one I ever watched more than one of was "TNG". 8)

Space Seed
Mirror, Mirror
Court Martial
Journey To Babel
Let That Be Your Last Battlefied

When they used to have the conventions, I always went - I never dressed up, though. From the original crew, I got to meet everyone except Dr. McCoy.

DeForrest Kelly is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met.

I sat next to Shatner on a flight from LA to NYC once. Nice guy too...surprisingly. We only talked a little Trek the series but a lot about his Star Trek books. Interesting guy.

Brent Spiner is funniest of the bunch I have met.

Oh, yeah. Spiner is great, as is Jonathan Frakes. I miss those conventions, even though they were packed with some really, umm, interesting and "out there" specimens of humanity, they were always fun.

And on a side note, has anyone seen the new fan-made series "Star Trek: New Voyages" (now retitled "Phase II)? Its been criticized by many but I think they do a damn good job of carrying on with the TOS legacy. Was a bit shaky at the start but the later episodes are a lot more professional. If anyone wants to check them out, here's the homepage: http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/

I was going to mention the DS9 episode...That was absolutely hillarious. They show the old Klingons and then ask Worf why they look different and he says it's something they don't talk about cuz it's a bit embaressing...and his expression is priceless. All those comments about the old style...the skirts, the number of people. Absolutely one of my favorite DS9 episodes...which I have not seen in years.
