I downloaded that one at the same time and sampled some of the songs earlier after listening to the other turd I mentioned. It is a much better album.

As far as the title track to "Love Gun", I expected to like it just because of the title... ...but I didn't care for it. I may give it another try but I'm not expecting much.

Cool- another thing to consider is that KISS's studio output is never as good as the live sound. LOVE GUN and SHOCK ME live kicks ass.

LOVE Kiss LIVE!!!! ALIVE is my fav......

You know...I love Kiss alive too, but eventually they are going to kick the bucket!   You've just got to prepare for these things. 8)

I believe there was some controversy about that at one time.
I can't remember the exact details,
but I thought they admitted to adding extra audience sound to a live album... :?

My first record I ever got as a child (great parents! ) was Kiss's album with Gene on the cover. I played the hell out of that thing. My second album was Kiss double platinum. I remember loving "God Of Thunder". Pretty cool back then, and they were HUGE at the time. I really liked a lot of their 80's stuff too. I still listen to "Crazy Nights" from time to time, and also liked "Lick it Up". Pauls got such a cool, unique voice that'll never be duplicated.

KISS ALIVE I and II are both overdubbed to hell (and alot of two was pretty much fabricated in the studio. For instance, they've never even PLAYED "Tomorrow and Tonight" live, yet there it is on the album!) Despite this ALIVE I is just a kick ass record, no matter how it was recorded.

What I meant was that the songs just come off stronger in a live setting. I've seen KISS about 12 times over the years, and their music was meant to be played live (Allthough Deano will have you believe they "augment" the sound, I have it on good authority that they didn't even use canned backing vox till the early 90s')

The album "Love Gun" also had that kitschy cardboard gun included. Folded over, when it was snapped, the gun had a thin piece of paper on the barrel that made a popping sound. Total schtick. It lasted for about a dozen pops, before the paper ripped. Mindless crap for a nine-year-old (both the album and the novelty).

That's funny as hell, and totally Kiss back then. Do you remember when they came out with that comic book, and actually had some of their own blood mixed in with the red ink for the book? Crazy, and they were just so big back then. I remember seeing "Kiss meets the phantom of the park" on tv when it first aired, and I really thought they had those cool powers!   Things we believe as kids... I bought that movie about 15 years ago, and still have the damn thing.

Surreal moment: I was asked to sing the National Anthem at a NASCAR race in Homestead, Fl., back in 2001. Gene and Paul were the Grand Marshall's of the race. My mom has a photo on the wall of me singing, mic in hand, with Paul and Gene just to my right.

I told Paul then that his solo album was my favorite KISS album. Great songs.

The Love Gun LP is hit and miss for me. "Hooligan" and "Almost Human" are two of my favorites off that one.
