- Better video quality (the camera shots weren't shitty, but they were poor relative to Arrival).
- An intro. When I saw Journey in Nashville this year, they came out to AC/DC's "Back In Black" on the video screens and the crowd went fucknuts. It would be a great way to demonstrate the hype and intensity of the crowd before they ultimately get silenced for the performance.
- Extras?

Best of all, I'd like to see five Revelation songs. [/list]

Damn right. All 28,000 people in Chicago exploded when Back In Black started and Journey was on the video board getting hyped backstage before the show. It was crazy how loud the place got. Not an empty chair in the house. I'd love to see that on a DVD.

Yeah.

I think they started it in Nashville, though, and it was surprising to see residents of the so-called country music capital of the world immediately on their feet. Cheap Trick was but a distant, foggy memory at that point.

Maybe you and I should be Journey's new management.

Hey I was front row in Nashville. Great concert

I think you can bet on that :D :D

Are you being serious or facetious?

Honestly, I doubt they will, but I would be pleasantly surprised. I would also like some songs thrown in off of Arrival (i.e. "Higher Place" or "World Gone Wild" or "To Be Alive Again"), but I think I'm asking for too much.

They are going to balladville. Count on all the slow songs from Revelation and any other slow burners from the back catalogue.

Nah, I don't believe that. They rocked pretty damn hard this year; Neal has to sacrifice to the ballad gods in the studio. But when it comes to the live arena, he is lord of all he surveys. He'll nail that fucking rhythm guitar to Jonathan Cain's hands and paint a shit-eating grin on the keyboardist's face before that happens.

Dude, go type tagalog song on youtube and get back with me.

What the hell is tagalog song?

I'd like to hear them on PM. My friends and I discuss "improving Journey" all the time; just a shitload of minor changes that could make them even more stellar. They have the raw goods, but they're still surprisingly sloppy in some areas.

@Rock, hell yeah it was great. Kind've weird to see Neal in all leather.

I hope they're not as sedate in the Philippines like they've been on some of those TV shows Arnel was on. I know the Plokkers will go nuts at the concert, but I don't know how Filipino audiences are, in general, at rock concerts compared to the U.S. You can see in Japan how much quieter they are. I'm sure somebody here can answer that question, like SH or GB. Of course, there will be a lot of pride for Arnel there, and, hopefully, that shows in audience response.

I think the first dozen or so rows will be jamming, after that I think it will be sedate.
The Japanese on the other hand actually rock a lot harder now. The crowd seems to be into it here.

Here's your boy Arnel singing. This is what 80% or more of their music sounds like.

I stopped listening after the first three notes on the keyboard.

Do you make it your prerogative to go out of your way to dash the hopes and dreams of those of us who like to cling to the belief that Neal will not abandon us to Jonathan's fantasy concert?

Today is February 17th and the first concert is March 9th. Arnel really didn't rest in January, doing appearances and leaving for his mini concert with Lani, doing the SB show, and just completed his last charity show in Guam last week. I thought he had more time b/f Journey's Asian/Hawaii tour began. Plus he has to get with Journey and practice their setlist. I hope he hasn't spread himself too thin b/f this first leg of the tour. He's only got a few weeks to really rest. I hate to be negative, but to me he piled too much stuff close in together heading into this tour.

And Gunbot...I was at the Show-Ya concert in 2005 at the Budokan and the Japanese still did the same thing as they did back in that 1983 Journey clip, they sit quietly until the show starts and then they just stand in place and raise their fists in the air to the beat of the music and yell.

Jana, I am so much in agreement. Which promoter do we want to whack :x :x

I do believe that if Arnel wants to promote his foundation, all he needs to do is ask his bandmates to donate one concert, Guaranteed it would provide more for his foundation that all these other appearances.

Is this Journey-specific? Because I'm picturing this show in Manila will have the type of atmosphere like the Rush In Rio DVD, and Rush seem to like having that one on DVD. I'm sure it's expensive as hell to record a DVD outside the US, but I wonder if they'll go for the novelty and the huge crowd?

Yes, Journey specific... The Rush DVD is cool. My comment is based solely upon my knowledge of the band over the years and is just an opinion based upon what I presume they would be thinking...

I saw Bon Jovi at the EGG (Tokyo Dome) on New Years Eve and all 55k seats were sold out, the place was jumping. A lot different from the old Departure tour show filmed over there.
And when Aerosmith Plays, forget it. They have usurped Journey's Rock crown in Japan.
