I haven't read anything here where Andrew has shut down debate, etc. It reads to me like he's simply asking for all the (beaten-to-DEATH) "frig is gay" stuff and the unneccessary name calling and whatnot to cease. I don't see what's so wrong with that.

The only thing that really has ever bugged me was the downright vulgar stuff. I don't see why a point can't be discussed/debated/even downright argued without the words "meat ditch" or "filthy snatch" showing up. I'm not talking about jokingly saying "You fucker" or something like that... there's a difference. But I always knew if I ever came out and either fired back the same way (which I don't do) or really bitched openly about it, I'd be the next target. And I have been anyway, totally unsolicted whether I was participarting in whatever the topic was or not, so I guess should have just bitched about it anyway.

It doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humor and I've been pretty good at either letting it go or acting like it doesn't bug me, and I'm no sort of girl scout myself, but it's downright embarrassing sometimes. The language is one thing, and yeah some people don't use curse words in general, but isn't there a fine line between just cussing versus being crude, hostile and offensive for the purpose of talking down to or hurting someone?

Well said!! Oh..and that is exactly how it all began and why I was targeted a long time ago. Things were being said towards me which I didn't appreciate ..totally unsolicited..so I figured I would speak up against it rather then just sit back and take it. I also started speaking against the completely over the top stuff way back. I have been called uptight and every other name in the book every since.

I don't see what the big deal is either in requesting a little more respect...to be able to have a little more decorum for the comfort of ALL to post here, not just a small minority who want to do as they please for their own " jollies" at the expense of others. I have a sense of humor...I'm no saint..never claimed to be one....a little risque innuendos done in humor...I have no problem with that...just the over the top vulgar talk , the degrading attacking and the x rated porn stuff. For crying out loud..this is not a XXX site so everyone should not be subjected to that. Anyone that wants to participate in that kind of thing and talk should go do it elsewhere.....there are plenty of other places on the web they can get their jollies at so no one is being " deprived" if they can't get it here. Speaking displeasure of actions they have taken as a band is one thing..going on and on with things like " friga is gay" and on and on about peoples personal relationships and lifes..or bringing any of their family members into it is another. I think Andrew would just like a little more respect done in that regard..cut out the childish degrading of people....but I don't see where he meant that people couldn't voice their opinions on what the band has done as a band in the past or the present. I think that discussion can still go on...but just keep it a tad more civil with each other when discussing....that when someone disagrees with someone elses opinion they don't go totally off on them and call them every name in the book is all I see he's asking for.
