I LOVE Paul Rodgers dude, but JSS is 20 times better for Queen. Seriously, it isn't close. Had Soto not been in Journey, I bet my asscheeks he would have been asked to at least audition for the Queen gig.

I too think Paul Rodgers is one of the greats of all time. However, he was totally wrong for Queen, i think JSS would be awesome in there.
Furthermore, the Cosmos Rocks is a terrible, tired album that just wallows.

Gonna tow the company line here and agree... I heard one or two Paul Rodgers+Queen songs and a bunch of covers of the original stuff. Not even close to feeling it. Paul was great in BC, Free, and on his own (The Firm blew ass)... here... not so much. Haven't heard JSS do much Queen either, but he's probably pretty cool doin that shit.

Yep! www.youtube.com/watch?v=J83wdhVmkVI Performs at least 40 Queen songs on that dvd! :)

My fav from that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7BMBPnlAHc

Would be awesome if they continued with JSS.

I had a feeling everyone would opt for JSS. The only problem to me is that Queen fans don't seem to have the same respect for him as you guys do. The forum on Queenzone.com have pretty much all said bad things about him. I think Brian would be up for it, but I'm not sure about Roger Taylor... They had their chance to hire JSS as far back as 2002 when they played with him, and they didn't. There maybe some reasoning behind that. Dunno.

I dunno. I have hard time imagining Perry & Queen together, especially now. Maybe 15 - 20 yrs ago, but now? How would that work out logistically? Not to mention assuming Queen is still interested in touring, Perry has expressed a bit of trepidation whereas touring is concerned. With all due respect, does Queen really want a 60 yr old frontman? I would think they would want to go with someone who is younger, not soured on touring, and not likely to try to "grab the reigns" and take them in some new direction...but that's just me. :?

If anybody should sing Queensongs, it should be a certain vocalist who recently left a certain Canadian band after three decades. His voice has really held up over the years and I believe he's covered a Queen song or two in the past.

Neither can I. As much as me loves Perry, I can think of a much better candidate for fronting Queen! :D

I also cant picture Steve Perry with Queen. Just a totally different style of music than Journey. Steve has a gift with singing power ballads and softer rock songs, cant picture him singing harder rock and glam rock.

"Edge of the Blade" anyone?

I do see what you're saying, but we mustn't forget his ability to lay down a hard rock track.

Perry isn't gonna be a fucking cover singer and Soto wouldn't drum up enough interest to fill up a telephone booth. Queen, without a big name like George Michael, is done.

It does not matter anyway if what HH says is true about SP. I mean, you can only relax and go to ball games for so long. He has to know how much people want him to sing and i'm sure he has to hear it from every source. How long has it been for him recording wise like 15 years. I prey i'm wrong, it all makes since though.

Arnel replaced Steve Augeri and Soto, and was a step up from them. Soto would be a step down from Paul Rodgers. If Paul Rodgers, and his massive built in fanbase couldn't save Queen, Soto sure as fuck isn't going to. Soto will not be offered the gig.

That's quite a stretch, especially considering YOU just mentioned Augeri who ALSO drummed up enough interest.... I don't know if he'll be offered it or not, but that's an unfair assement since they DID consider him at one point.

Besides, what is this "saving queen" stuff. Did they need "saved"???
