I like what I hear so far in regard to the footage. I'll usually take in interview stuff too even if it's stuff that's being repeated. Maybe it's just me, but does the band always seem quiet or withdrawn (lacking the right wording here) at press conferences, or could it maybe just be the effects of travel? The other thing is with the various videos from this show, I know Arnel is the "frontman," but I didn't expect it in the literal sense -- the band seems tucked way back on the stage. Any thoughts?

Nick
PS - Cool seeing "the whale" onstage again.

Friga needs to shut the fuck up. And Neal. They both dismiss Steve A and Jeff. Typical Journey interview. Friga talks out his ass as usual.Friga s got goosebumbs now over Arnel. I beleive them with a grain of salt.I dont see a 3 hour show, thats what killed Augeri, and they know it

I'd be careful and choose your words wisely, Steve. How does the whale fit up your ass? If you don't have that answer, you may soon find out.

I dont have anything thing up my ass,we will find out soon enough.I wish the band well,I just hate them dumb ass interviews when they talk about the past.I d rather hear "no comment" then to hear the bullshit, thats all. If they kick ass with Arnel this year ,I am all for it. I plan on seing them in Baltimore this summer .You penis

 Why am I not surprised? If you anticipated it being "typical," why bother watching it? Neal was the one who was game to doing a 3 hour show, but he said 2 1/2 is more feasible at most -- it was mainly due to the reaction of casual fans, which sucks. I can't help myself, "What exactly is your problem with Friga/Leonard/John/Cain/Jonathan?"

I agree with much of what you're saying, but I don't think the 3 hour sets had anything to do with Augeri's departure.
As far as it concerned SA, they were average sets, with vocal duties shared by Deen, as well as Ross and Neal sometimes taking a turn.
The extra hour was mostly for non-vocal pre-Perry jam stuff.

Deen looks healthy and appears to be staying that way. Much better than a few years ago when he had a reported "problem". But yah...Ross is looking very lanky, frail, gaunt, etc. Let's hope it isn't anything serious.

No casuals = 1/4-full concerts and considerably fewer record sales = Journey goes their separate ways (*snerk*) and right back to solo projects. Why do you think Greatest Hits sold over 14 million copies (and counting)? It isn't the die-hards out there buying those up.

What do you mean about Deen having a "problem" a few years ago? I know he got sick or suffered some excessive fatigue or something around the time of working on Soul Sirkus and the 30th Anniversary tour (sorry if my memory's a little sketchy).

As for Ross, I didn't think there seemed to be anything wrong aside from his age starting to wear on him -- he still rocks though 8)

For sure. You're 100% correct. In a perfect world though, Journey would be like U2 and the Beatles and everyone would be hardcore! :D

From the 2005 Generations Interview:

"A couple of things…first drumming and then vocally. This is a three hour show. With the stamina involved - how do you keep up with it?

I'll tell you something…four or five years ago I wouldn't have been able to do it. I was pretty messed up on drugs and alcohol and the band had an intervention with me and got me on the straight and narrow.
It's been great, I lost 60 pounds and that is the only way I could do it – off the drugs and alcohol and with the weight loss. I am able to do 3 hours with no problem."

In another interview he talked about how Neal and Jon and I believe Ross went out to where he was in rehab to be there with him the day he got out. He was very moved by that.

That's three of the members that I know to be in recovery. That might also have something to do with their current, seemly great relationship with each other.

There seems to be something wrong with Ross's upper lip.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I think that's the first time I've ever heard Arnel say "confusion" properly. He usually pronounced it "confushion." Well done. They sound great.
