On the evening news last night they were talking to people in Yorkshire as they had just voted and many admitted to voting for the BNP on camera.
Most of them said words to the effect, "I am not a racist but I voted for the BNP as a protest against the Labour Party and I didn't want to vote Conservative."

Now THAT is scary.

As I said earlier, when the BNP first raised their heads I had a look at what they were about and they very cleverly listed things which would make most people think, "hmm these sound like ok guys" - stuff like 'we'll get a better Health Service and Education system etc etc' - general stuff that all sane people want. And they made it sound like they had plenty of fire in their bellies and were going to make things happen.
Anyone who did not continue reading after that may have been fooled by them.

But as the list went on, all the bad stuff was there - no abortions allowed even if the woman had been raped, no one of colour allowed to enter the country and everyone of colour will be kicked out etc etc

I foolishly thought no one would fall for that....................but they have.

Weren't quite a few of the homegrown terrorists from Yorkshire? Could that be a reason why people in that area are going to the extreme right?

Yes they were.
There is a very large Asian population in West Yorkshire and the BNP seems to be taking root there.
But one of the seats gained this week was in South Yorkshire, so it is spreading.

And yes The Queen is really a figurehead. She meets every week with the Prime MInister and she signs papers for him etc - but I think its really formality and just for show.

I doubt she can do anything TBH.

You're not supposed to have those kind of loopholes in a democracy. While, the election results are unsavory, they can't be dismissed without making a mockery of the whole instititution. We've done it here in the colonies where people have thrown their votes to the Green Party to make a statement. It's nothing new.

I'm pretty sure that the Queen does actually have the power to overthrow whoever is in charge of the government. Needs looking up, but I'm sure i've it before.

Once you do that though, then what? If you set precedent, it's going to be hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

But it would never happen anyways so it's all good. BNP will never get elected.

The BNP tried to hold a press conference outside the parliament earlier when protesters pelted them with eggs. The sky news newsreader said that the police were scrambled :D

There is free speach and then there is the speech of racist!

Not only do they oppose mass immigration but they also want to throw out black people. Does that sound good to you aswell?

You know nothing of this party. Until you do, go away.

They are mostly scared people. They think anyone different that they are are a danger to them. Paranoid Flakes. LOL! A lot of that garbage is taught in the home. We need to educate the children of the future against such notions, and teach them the dangers..........what if white was the minority and someone felt we were a danger?

One of my favorite twilight zone episodes, a white biggot had become in the eyes of others a black man............. :D

Apparently you haven't ever listened to a sermon in most black churches in the inner city. Reverend Wright ain't the only one.

As far as whites being in the minority, we'll be there in 30 years in this country.
