Man, I am LOVING this artwork. Great job A4P! Do you ever sell your work? You have such an awesome imagination, and your style is very original. I am a huge fan of your stuff. I just showed my wife all of these, and she really liked the Jon Cain drawing. You did a very good job on it! Show us more. :D

I was just watching a PBS show about Edward Hopper:

Never heard of him....but to me, this looked oddly familiar:

...Maybe because....I'm MORE familiar with THIS:

Ginger.... as an Artist, what do you think of other Artists who crib off of an Original to "make it their own"?

It is called "Borrowing" ......but yeah, it started a long time ago......Duchamp and the Dadaists were the earliest I think, need to brush up on my history............ To me if it is altered enough that it stands on its own, fine. But if it is like they just reprint it and say it is theirs no................. Case in point..............the Mona Lisa

Image

Duchamp............the title below basicly has initials that say she has a hot A............
Parody of the American Gothic painting below

Image

Image

Image

Parody of the girl with the pearl earing

Basicly anthing old is considered public domain..............anyone can borrow but must pay hommage, in the title etc.......

A4P, you've probably explained this but I've missed or forgotten it so... can you explain where you got the idea to put Perry in the middle of frogs?

Are the frogs representing the other guys as in "he's the star"?

This is what I wrote earlier:
Thanks.......I think . LOL! Sorry Jana, I am a surrealist.........means my artwork is fraught with dreamskapes. I love the fantastic, and unreal. P.S. guys the Perry painting was after an interview where he says he is listening to others sing now.........frogs are becoming a bit of a trademark for me, so I painted him with a choir of frogs singing to him. I keep saying, maybe he will leave that little pond and sing for us once more. Also about the article where he asks "Who sings for me?" I got the answer! LOL! Silly but fun.......... I fused two pics, one in my av and the hair from FTLOSM. That was a feet! The photo is not in its true colors. It is actually more regular tanned skin tone. The photograph made it reddish.

He is the audience..........he is enjoying others singing..............the spectator to the happy little stingy frogs......... :D

I love frogs and toads. They're awesome! I was chilling out in my back yard last night drinking a beer and watching 4 toads sit under my outside house light tearing UP some bugs.  They're out there tonight too. It just cracks me up because they'll just sit there patiently, but as soon as a bug falls off of the house, or bounces down to the ground.... SNAP! They're gone.  One of the toads is so damn fat... He looks like he's eaten every damn bug withing a mile from our house.

Not sure if I posted this but I haven't had the time to draw lately. I've looked into it with many drawing books and anatomy books and hope to one day correct many flaws and learn more.

Very nice drawing! Just practice drawing a lot. Thanks for sharing. Do you like doing Marvel comics alone or other things as well? I actually met a Marvel annimater a few years back. He gave me an autographed print of his drawing of Captain America. This type of art is quickly growing in popularity. :D

To artist4perry and YoungJRNY on this thread...

ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME? GOOD LORD, YOU GUYS ARE TALENTED!

I only studied drawing for a second while in school and now I can't master it. I think you both are the types of artists I wish I could have become. Practice and draw to your hearts content my dears, you both are very blessed and deserve all the rewards you will earn. Lorrie

Well just tell me how you feel now! LOL! Hugs lady, as I have told you before, you have great talent of your own, don't sell yourself short! We have such a talented bunch on this site. You with your comedic videos and writing, GI, Tragchick, and Susie P have such beautiful voices and song writing styles. Some just with their lawyer and psychiatric knowledge, lol, they make for interesting conversations! Some with their quick witt and sharp resonses. Lora and Cyndy......what can I say, what memories, experiances, and not to mention talent those two posess! Rick I would be lost without your PC teaching lessons......and kindness.

MR is Blessed with talented, wonderful folks. Each one of you possess something great you bring to the table every day!
Thank you for allowing me to share my love for art, and for you sharing the art you love as well. I so seldom get to talk about artwork anymore since I graduated.

Most of all thank you to those whom make me feel welcome, at home, and surrounded by such wonderful friendship.

Don't mention it, seriously. I think it is wonderful to find a site where artists can share our work, express our feelings and embrace each other. And yes, the plethora of talent on this site is mind boggling, artists; singers; writers; computer "geeks;" maybe even dancers; knitters; fire eaters; belly button puppet theater masters......ya'll get my point. Whatever talent you people posess, you blow me away. Obviously, if it was not for the internet I would never have known everyone on MR or their talents. Yeap, impressive to be sure. L :D

And now I have this vision of stop motion animation done with cotton balls with little ears on them.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Hire me for the Fantasia thing! That would be my dream.........to animate my creatures and animals!

Random Guru it is! LOL! I am ADHD..........follow the thoughts in my head! LOL! Dan hates when I start a conversation in mid sentence about something I have been thinking over in my head. I tend to start talking to him as though he was privy to the conversation in my head...........A total ADHD thing to do..........LOL So I have to go back and tell him what I was thinking about...............They say Thomas Edison was like this too, can yo imagine living with a genius who starts babbling about things in his head as if you knew what he had thought for the last hour? LOL!

What being an artist is to me:

Love the world you are in
Read a good book
Enjoy people
Listen to a baby laugh
Study nature
Enjoy your surroundings
Love others
Let music fill your soal
Express yourself freely
Be open to new things
Cherrish life
Study simple moves and gestures
Don't worry that someone won't like or approve of your work ~I still struggle with this one!
Keep an open mind

But most of all, allow yourself the privillage of being a Dreamer.........to dream of what is impossible in the mind of those who have no ability to grasp beyond what is mundane. A dreamer is the lover of life, and possibilites......... :D
