Only 6%?!?! That's about 5.9% too much!!! He's the voice of a lifetime, but his solo career, or lack thereof, is not worthy of any sort of HOF. He'll go in with Journey in 2010 or 2011.

2011 or 2012 at the latest. I do believe that it WILL happen as well. Just not as fast as it should.

I wish I shared your confidence. I think Perry & Co. are about to become eligible for the songwriters HoF. Perhaps they have a better shot there... :?

I think they've been eligible for a while. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora just got inducted and they've only been around as a group since 83.

Yup, you're right sir. I stand corrected. I knew JBJ & Sambora were inducted this year. Not to be a whiner, or anything, but WTF? When's gone be Journey's time, Lord??

When they start singing about things like racing cars and six-packs of beer. Faded photographs and highway run just don't cut it I suppose.

I'm going to pretend you didn't even just say that.

It's the songwriters HoF, for crying out loud. Schmaltzy, sappy, syrupy twaddle is just part of the landscape. Besides, Journey has definitely written some of the most memorable songs of their era. I would venture to say that most people of a certain age can hear the first 4 notes, and sing the chorus and at least a couple of lines of most of Journey's "Dirty Dozen" - even people with no real rock and roll interest. They may not have had any #1's, but their songs were as ubiquitous as bird poop - they were everywhere. And, in my never to be humble opinion, they've stood the test of time - for the most part.

They aren't going in. Be realistic.

For a few weeks now I thought you were becoming a MR lurker until I saw this post.
Glad to see you're still around. We miss your rants ...
