They're playing One More in America.

This is a dream come true.

I should probably get on getting tickets for Columbus, August 26th soon.

Eh...I'd rather see Can't Tame The Lion. Saw Message Of Love multiple times in 2006.

Hey all!

I'm finally beginning to recover from three days of non-stop music and photography, little sleep, and not-so-great food. But hey, that's rock and roll!

Glad you guys ended up posting my tweets here, that's really cool. The review from Thursday night (Journey) and more photos are now posted. Full galleries are on the way so check back later. Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Lita Ford, Yes, and Asia pics and reviews aren't far off either.

Here's the link: http://melodicrockconcerts.com/?p=1101

I really had a blast and it was fun to meet Marty, Barb, and Rocknroll at the fest. More of you have to come next year!

Hey Matt! So good to meet you! I had a blast at the Jam...it's a pretty cool event. By Saturday night though I had enough of the cold and rain...we left a little early. Looking forward to the pics for posting on the Zone and at Deen's new site which we will re-launch shortly!

Stay in touch!

Some of the excerpts from the review

Its members have somehow managed to look even younger, and with the addition of singer Arnel Pineda, the youthful element of Journey is fully restored.

It’s hard to sum up this remarkable group as a whole, so some observances on the individual level are in order. Now on his second world tour with Journey, singer Arnel Pineda is a force to be reckoned with on stage. With uncontainable energy and emotion, his personality literally reaches out from the stage and into the crowd. It’s hard not to stare and be captivated by his presence as he nailed the ballads and guitar driven cuts alike without missing a beat.

Indeed the first night of the festival set the bar high for the remaining two nights, and Journey proved themselves asrelevant and impressive as ever.

Such a positive review not only of Arnel but the whole band but somehow I find myself alone here. Well, I guess it's lonely at the TOP.

Thanks Weatherman. I'm glad to know that the YOUNGER generations are into Journey. Thank God.

Another positive review, so it's now 2 for 2. Life is good. :D

Chubby, on the internet, you have the right to remain anonymous. On MR you have right to remain anonymous and controversial. That said, people sometimes post for shock value and for the sole purpose of riling up others. It creates some fun, entertaining and spirited discussions. Under the facade, there are people around here who love Journey WITH Arnel far more than you will ever see them admit here. :D 8)

You know, if you go through my old posts when I first started here, you'll find I was on Arnel's team bashing Perry at every turn . I even think Strange Medicine may have been a SP loon back then before he returned as Gideon in a later life. Once it became 80% anti -SP around the forum , I changed over to the loon side as I thought the AP love machine was over the top at that point.
As far as anonymity, I've been fortunate enough to meet a number of people from this board in real life. I don't believe in posting anything I wouldn't say to somebody's face. I'm not here to be mean. I think out everything I say and try to present a valid argument for my point of view. I can't debate like Gideon but I do try to have something backing up what I say for the most part.
Okay, that's enough about me. Just trying to clear any misconceptions anyone has about me. I just come here for fun. I'm not a TRUUE fan as some are but I do like my Perry era Journey so this is, as far as I'm concerned the best place to be.

Way too serious and way too fucking well thought out. Damn, you must have the patience of Jobe in real life.

I come here for fun too and a lot of what is say here, in fun, is not the way I really feel or think. Truthfully, however, at this stage of the game I can't imagine how things could be better for Journey, overall, than they are right now, save for Perry having never left. So, I remain a fan. As long as I'm happy, well, nobody can steal that from me. :D

Not quite, Some of us appreciate it!

Nice to know. :D

It's just like you see the stuff Gunbot posts, but secretly he has a huge boulder in his pants for Arnel....he's got a thing for Asians. LOL (ok, that was a bad joke)

It won't happen again. I don't have the patience to type stuff out like that on a regular basis, another reason I can't debate very well on the internet.

Great review covering the first day's acts, Matt. I do want to point out though that the new vocal chant in Don’t Stop Believin’ you made mention of actually originated during the Arrival tour and was captured on the Arrival 2001 Live In Las Vegas DVD. :D

Thanks GB! I'll have to watch that again...

They haven't been using it in all shows since then though, have they? It was my first time hearing it live I'm almost certain.

I should probably get on getting tickets for Columbus, August 26th soon.

I thought of you when they played it, prog!

(I also thought of you during Yes and Asia just because of the nature of your username)

No. And all the other stuff appears new, though I'd like to see if the WITS solo's were resurrected from the Departure tour. In all fairness it is new for this generation of fans so you were right in that aspect.

By the way, I'm anxiously awaiting your review on the Asia/Yes sets. :D

Would love to see the band pull a U2 and breakout something like Don't Stop Till You Get Enough or Man In The Mirror in place of the added solo's.

I saw Asia in Japan quite a few years back and saw Yes BEFORE Trevor Rabin came on board (I really wanted to see him but never had the chance). I have both bands stuff in my playlist, and when it comes to Yes, I belong to both the generator and the trooper fan bases. I love all eras of Yes.
