Anyway, hopefully people will not be discouraged to go out and see a Frontiers show based on my ability to quickly respond to emails and PMs. SG, I don't remember what you are referring to, but I assure you there was no intentional snub on my part. If I walked by you and you called out my name, I was probably en route to doing something and may not have recognized you. I know we know each other from the internet here, but although we've met face to face a couple of times, don't be offended if I don't recognize you without refreshing my memory or saying your name one more time if I stop to say hello. During show time, I also have the responsibility of being the lead production manager on stage, for what it's worth, handling all the monitor issues and situations, and generally taking care of any other problems or issues that may come up. Depending on what all is going on at the time, I may very well just be completely preoccupied....After all, when you see me at these shows I'm at my job. Regarding emails or messages, etc - I am at the computer for a couple of minutes throughout the day. I don't normally have time to immediately respond to emails as soon as I get them. I always try to go back and respond when I do have the time, but like anyone else, sometimes they get backed up and I just forget to go back and respond.
Also, I do not get any Myspace/Facebook messages from our Frontiers accounts. These go to my manager who handles the accounts for me now. If you have sent me a message in any other form than a PM here at Melodicrock, odds are I probably haven't even seen it.
Anyway, I hope that my responding to emails or PMs is not going to make people shy away from enjoying some good Journey music. Please understand that I'm working nearly all the time. I've been on the road this week since last Wednesday, and I won't be home until Tuesday, then I leave again Friday morning. When I'm on the road, I'm either driving, sleeping, or trying to put out fires. Just this week I got a Verizon MiFi so I can do more work online when I'm away from home. I don't have anyone to carry road cases or wire monitor boards or make hotel reservations or change the batteries in wireless body packs....That's all my responsibility as well. When I am home, I have a 3 week old baby and a 2 year old toddler, so my computer time at home is limited to the hours of 10pm to 2 am or so, if I have time at all.
So there's that. Sorry to have turned anyone off and I assure anyone that any perceived "snubs" are not intentional. If you take the time to introduce yourself or remind me who you are at a show, I'm always looking forward to meeting people and talking. But I am first and foremost the captain of the ship out there, and when you see a Frontiers show, I'm ultimately responsible for putting out any fires equipment wise, personnel wise, venue wise, so I may have a lot on my hands at the time.....
So back to the topic at hand....We'll be in VT next month, so if you're in the area please make it out to a show!
