No I didn't. I wasn't about to include Jeff's fans because they aren't fucked up like these entities are.

Where the heck does that leave me, what about those of us that are part Loon, part Soto-ite? Does that make me only half f*cked up? :P

And what's up with the diagrams of the venues?

Putting on my loon hat. Wait a second.....Okay.

If we want to go that route, here's one of the venues Journey sold out with SP. It wasn't a festival either, Journey with opening acts actually drew this many people.
Seating capacity up until 1997, 104,000. Now, it's 92,000.
U2 is playing there in October, by the way.

Agreed......we don't need a graphic or every venue along with ticket prices....and the little tweet's are a bit much too. BTW not all Loons are crazy some of us just love the music!!!

Went with the pinheads for a couple reasons. They all seem to tought Arnel as being better than Perry. Arnel is very good, but he isn't Perry, and nobody ever will be. And, second, they don't seem to respect the history of the band. In many ways, if Arnel weren't singing for them, most probably wouldn't care about Journey. Very few seem to acknowledge the existence of Augeri, Soto, or the pre-Perry years and what each of those eras and members brought to the band during their tenure, regardless to whether you liked those eras of the band of not. Just my 2 cents, take it for what it is.

I'm guaranTEEING he's not.
People hear "Oh Sherry" they go "Oh that's Journey."
Or if they're REAL knowledgeable "that's that guy, uh what's his name, uh the guy from Journey."

Real legendary.

bingo! it's the lack of acknowledgment for the history that bothers me. many seem to act as though journey was a non entity until arnel became the singer.

Sorry, MS. It's not true. I am considered a Perry/Journey loon amongst my friends. And nobody really knows him except to remember he was Journey's singer and the Oh, Sherrie guy. He's been gone so long he's not legendary. And re his voice is legendary, not true past all the fans who frequent all these boards and people in the industry. He hasn't put out enough music in later years to be in the minds of most music listeners. I used to bring him up from 30-year-olds to 60-year-olds to see what they said. Even most people that used to listen to Journey don't even know Journey is still around and only remember him as, oh, yeah, wasn't he with Journey. His voice was great on the hits like Faithfully on the radio, but not some earth-shattering standout. No big, oh, the Voice. They would have to own all the albums of Journey and really listen to all the deeper cuts that weren't the greatest hits to fully appreciate his voice and amazingly stunning vocals and delivery on songs and to fully understand the uniqueness of his voice and talent, and most were just casual fans of Journey or those days are so long gone they barely remember.

Legendary in the general music-listening public majoritywise? No.

Exactly. I've said it before, and I will simply say it again - those "type of fans" are nothing more than ignorant fools, that really have no clue at all... they just don't. And I chose the pinheads as well, simply because of what marco17 stated.

At least the Perry fans are legitimate, and they understand real quality, but not only that, they are fans of the era of Journey when they were on top, and creating hit records on their own merits , along with the best rock singer at that period of time, and arguably of all time, Steve Perry.

I haven't seen many on this Board claim that Arnel is better than Perry. Ive been a Journey fan for 30 years, but I don't care about what SP is doing every second of the day, what color socks he's wearing etc... What I do care about is who's making music and who's out there touring and that would be Journey not SP. So, if I have to take a side, then
Im with the Pinheads because they support the Band as well as Arnel and aren't slamming them every chance they get.

Not quite. Still trying to find a floor seat for Louisville. Nothing on Ticketmaster the last month, but we're getting closer to the show now so I might be able to find something on the floor. You'd think finding just one ticket would be easier.

I'm set in the 7th row for Indy, but I'm not going to be able to make it to Rockford unfortunately.

The poll makes it look like an even split pretty much, which could suggest that the board is pretty well balanced, so it's all good.

Without conflict, there would be stagnation. I like all the throw downs and such. It's only the web. If I actually need to know something of importance I can get the propaganda officially at the Journeymusic.
To me, this place is a Journey forum in name only when you think about it. There is so much cool information about other melodic artists posted here, it's a treasure trove if you love music like I do. Journey is just the conduit that brings us here, where the actual base of this forum is the Potpourri of subjects like life, music and politics. That is what actually keeps me addicted to this place.

There is so much cool information about other melodic artists posted here, it's a treasure trove if you love music like I do. Journey is just the conduit that brings us here, where the actual base of this forum is the Potpourri of subjects like life, music and politics. That is what actually keeps me addicted to this place.

BTW, the Celtic Women weren't on last night. It was Julia Child or something.

On KOCE? they came on right after Celtic Thunder. Julie Child was on KCET last night. I'll just have to send you a disc (for evaluation purposes only, of course  ).
Sometime next week when I buy some more DVDRs.

What I do care about is who's making music and who's out there touring and that would be Journey not SP. So, if I have to take a side, then
Im with the Pinheads because they support the Band as well as Arnel and aren't slamming them every chance they get.

The poll makes it look like an even split pretty much, which could suggest that the board is pretty well balanced, so it's all good.

I didn't vote. None of them bother me, at all. I understand different people having different favorites. If everyone all like the exact same thing, the world would suck.

1+ If everyone thought the same way, then there would be no MR forum. :o :(

Without conflict, there would be stagnation. I like all the throw downs and such. It's only the web. If I actually need to know something of importance I can get the propaganda officially at the Journeymusic.
To me, this place is a Journey forum in name only when you think about it.
