No matter how long they last, as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey.

Uh huh ... we've been hearing this for about 10 years.

LOL I know. I read old posts from four, five years ago, and the same thing was being said, that have no more plans past "one" more year in the spotlight as far as a tour. From everything I've read from Arnel, Jon, and Neal last year, they plan on touring a lot longer than one year. Now another album, I have no clue. I guess it depends on how this one sells.

If they say it enough, they'll eventually be right.

My personal prediction is that they might tour a few more years and then branch off onto their own projects until "retirement" or death.

That might hold true for other things also. Aren't some of them due for a drug relapse or something by now? What is it, three members recovering addicts and another an ex-alcoholic. I think Cain is the only one who has stayed reasonably clean his entire career, or at least kept it out of the public eye. Why didn't these guys just stick to pot like the rest of us were doing in the '70s?

Shit, I don't know. Too many old rockers look like beef jerky. Personally, I don't understand people who have no self control over those things.

A piece of cake. Look at Foreigner; one album of new material in 15 years, yet they have been a regular touring machine here and in Europe. New music isn't a must, it's not like they're going to pull a Van Hager and over shadow their legacy products with some new song/album.

And they'll do at least 2 more albums after the 2011 release. That is, of course, assuming everyone stays healthy. Neal will journey on. It's what he does. :)

Looking at their ages again, 5 years seems reasonable. I don't know why I thought most of them were mid 60's.

They need to kick Ross out, his wrinkled ass looks spread to the whole band.

Sifting through your hideous grammar :) , I agree here. Perry can't possibly be a puppeteer. I read Chubby's post citing an article that the two finalists for the Super Bowl this year was Black Eyed Peas and Journey. Are you telling me Espee can veto Journey playing the biggest stage in the world? If so, that's just wrong.

Seriously. People who buy into this one are giving Perry way to much credit. He'd have to be slicker than whale shit in an ice flow to pull those kind of strings.

I'm sure that Perry was asked, but he just couldn't because he has "feelings" about it and the "faithfull ones" might all piss themselves because Arnel is doing what the Schozzed One can't.

He wouldn't even sing the national anthem for his beloved team...

Karaoke my ass. Arnel sings his ass off.

I don't understand why people sh*t on Arnel so much. The guy's one helluva singer.
I didn't say Better, so don't freak out, but I don't get it.

For Perry to stop this is insecurity of the highest order.

Whattsa Matter Steve? Afraid Arnel will erase your legacy?

Hardly.

Man it must suck to be Perry and be constantly worried that you'll be forgotten about.
Truth is, nobody will forget him, but man, get over yourself. Those who doubt this happened and why are lying to themselves. The more I hear about SP the less I respect him.

I agree. I don't understand where all of this "erasing the legacy" stuff comes from. NOBODY is going to erase history and it's already set in stone. Perry is on all of the classics and over the 75+ million records sold. Just because Neal and Cain like to say dumb shit sometimes while throwing in the word "legacy" doesn't mean everyone will suddenly forget about Perry.

Arnel couldn't erase SP's legacy with 10 tons of Kiltz, one million tons of Whiteout and an eraser the size of Texas!!
You people (Perry Basher's) are losing control over insufficient evidence ..SJ, give me that number!!

The eraser of the legacy stuff comes from the Perry Basher's!!

That's what the post said MG. He's worried AND PARANOID about NOTHING.
Let Journey work, it doesn't affect Perry whatsoever, yet he's so friggin' nuts about it.

If Perry COULD do it, he would. He can't, so let others that can.

Nobody said he would...? Except maybe delusional pinheads...but their opinion doesn't matter on the subject anyway.

I think there's a line between Perry bashing and being objective.

Maybe it's not so much about Perry being paranoid, perhaps he is just a sadistic type of person that likes to rile up Neal every chance he gets. He just does it covertly, to paint Schon as the fool. Sort of like a bully picking on the special needs kid in school. The instigator doesn't always have to be the biggest and loudest one in the class, you know.

When this guy can write his own song, just one for crying out loud, then he will get a bit more respect. As it is now, he IS a karaoke singer. Just because you sing your ass off, does not make you not a "cover singer." Better?

I don't understand why people sh*t on Arnel so much. .

Good point. I wasn't trying to shit on Pineda...I used poor words, however, his fans are fucking idiots. Pinoy nation is an embarrassment.

The guy's one helluva singer

I'm not so sure about this. Helluva voice? Absolutely. Great singer? Meh, not so much. The guy can cover a song pretty good, but he still has major flaws, mainly enunciation and diction. I would be very cautious to label him a "great singer." JSS is by far and away, a much better singer than Pineda.
