Smart move. The same reason crappy movies don't advance to reviewers. They need all the initial sales they can get.

Also noticed that Eclipse is #1 on the top 100 best sellers list for albums, while Def Leppard's Mirrorball comes in at #2. Two classic rock bands taking the top spots, pretty cool. Neither album hasnt even been released yet either. Pre-order sales must be doing really well for both bands so far.
Here's the link: http://www.walmart.com/browse/Music/_/N ... 73&ic=96_0
I always like it when I see this for older bands and singers.

I prefer the vinyl versions.. man I miss going to the record stores, thumbing through the record bins and hanging out on release days... kids these days have no idea how much fun that was..
jrny84 wrote:Not much momentum with the Eclipse album. It continues to drop on the Walmart bestsellers now down to the #8 spot. Really odd, I would have thought it would increase as it gets closer to the release date and its doing the opposite.
Heres the list this week:
1. Def Leppard-Mirrorball
2. Kiss-SonicBoom
3. Adele-21
4. Richard Marx-Stories to Tell
5. Now Thats What I call Music 38
6. Lemonade Mouth Soundtrack
7. Yolanda Adams
8. Journey-Eclipse

No worries. There a plan in place and the first week sales will be excellent.

Like Frontiers, it will have the bad luck of being released behind a juggernaut album.

I agree! I used to LOVE getting a cd on release day. I must admit, it's been MANY years since I've purchased anything on vinyl. Probably not since right after cassettes came out. I also ditched cassettes once cd's came out. I also remember when I was a kid, waiting for the delivery truck to make it's stop at our local store with comic books. I was a HUGE fan of "Swamp Thing" comic books when I was younger, and had every issue up until around issue # 75. I LOVED tearing that plastic off and smelling the pages as I opened it. I stopped reading them when I was around 13 (when I started noticing how much cooler the girls were).
I still miss those days, and the anticipation of waiting an entire month to find out what the next comic was going to be! That's a sensation that todays youth will never experience, and it's pretty sad. If they can't listen to it, purchase it, or download it within seconds, they don't want it. I sure miss the old days...
