For example, if you had bought Gaga previously, and bought and recommend Eclipse, others browsing Gaga may have Eclipse suggested to them because you had bought both. Of course that would also happen if you bought White Snake and Eclipse too, and probably makes more sense. Anyway, if you like Eclipse, go leave a good review on Amazon and Walmart (if walmart has reviews).

Since the album isn't selling there and the import's not released yet, where do you do that?

Amazon appeared to have a 48 hour exclusivity window where they were the only ones selling downloads for Eclipse in the states. But when Neal was asked on the radio where the album could be bought, he only said that it was WalMart exclusive.

AMazon is the second largest music seller in the country and you don't mention them?

I love how people try to guess this and that and pretend they are facts.

Please prove that Amazon had any type of exclusivity right...and that Wal-Mart didn't simply screw up and not make it available on time. Or, maybe Perry screwed up the release somehow and it was all his fault.

Maybe it was Herbie's evil plan all along. Maybe he stole the digital copy that all the CD's are made from and left everyone scrambling for..... I'm just being a smartass. Sorry. You're right though. I tend to believe what you've suggested about WM.

As opposed to your theory that Wal-Mart was able to activate mp3 downloads for all the other albums except the one that was exclusive to them? And it took them two days to figure this out? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Might be too early to call fail. Will today's numbers be in sales tallies tomorrow?
I'm sure the reason it's ahead of Gaga is because of the 99c deal. Being ahead of
Paisley, I don't understand.

So didn't debut as well as it will sell in it's second week. Slow burner that might do fine.

Then it must be Steve Perry's fault! I *KNEW* it!

Point is: You are just GUESSING at such things but are implying it is fact. You don't know what the deals were/are behind the scenes, what mistakes were made, and who was involved and how/why.

That doesn't sound like I stated it as a 100% fact. I am speculating and giving my opinion, just like what you and everyone else on this site does 90% of the time they make a post.

To counter balance that, the #1 music distributor itunes doesn't have it all (except overseas) and the second largest music distributor has it at #100.

I don't think itunes has it domestically, do they? I don't do iTunes. I fucking hate anything Apple.

Itunes doesn't have it but they do have the 7 acts listed above Eclipse on the projected billboard chart.

It's just hard to judge what Eclipse is actually doing on that chart.
Richard Marx has been on Wal-Mart's Top 10 best seller list for the last month, yet his album hasn't even cracked the top 200 on Billboard. With iTunes and Amazon offering a lower price, Gaga and company might just be pulling their sales elsewhere now, thus the lower ranking on Wal-Mart's charts.

LMAO! Spoken with true conviction and anger. I'm totally and completely in agreement with you on that one. FUCK APPLE! Fuck anything whose name starts with a lower case 'i'.
This short skit from MadTV was done a few years back but it's just as funny today. It's an awesome stab at Apple and Steve Jobs and the Bush administration. Good stuff!

When I went to check on the local Walmart placement, they had it in the New Release section, but I pulled some and put them in the top featured row in 2 spots. Gotta' keep them front and center!!! :D

On the June 4 edition of Billboards top 200 albums you will find Journey's - Greatest Hits @ # 102. Foreigner's Extended Versions is also in the top 200 as is REO's A Second Decade of Rock & Roll. Justin Beiber has 4 Albums in the top 200, The Cars new CD is in the Top 20 AGAIN.

No sign of Eclipse.......................................... Anywhere

I have a feeling that their report date falling on a holiday is going to push the results back a week. They're in the Top 20 for sure. And that's just from Rip.

So one could say that sales of the new album has been eclipsed by those by other bands...? :?:   Sorry, I couldn't resist.

As of this week, Journey's Greatest Hits is 106 on the Billboard 200, Eclipse is nowhere to be found.

Walmart hasn't reported the numbers. It'll chart when they do. My guess is that the report date falling on a holiday at an exclusive retailer means that the numbers won't be reported this week. The Anderson employees, the company that stocked the CDs (and did a really shitty job), were probably off yesterday.

Good answer because I cant see Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, REO's A Second Decade & Foreigner's Extended Versions having better sales then Eclipse.

It made no sense to me.

Greg is looking at the week prior to Eclipse. The new numbers will on Billboard Thursday morning and possibly elsewhere before then.
