Oh, I have that one! Right next to the complete Van Halen Oakland California June 1981 pro-shot.
Michael Jackson gave them to me a few months before he "beat it"...

Froy if you are a fan, you share it. If you have something you are not supposed to share (I do too, not Journey) you do not brag about it. That's all.

No interest in sharing it at this time. Its not sharable ,To much studio time involved just to share it,
When I get it in HD and 5.1 you will see it somewhere, On Blue Ray, That's it,

My bullshit sifter just bit went into overdrive. Put up or shut up. Man up, man!

Personally, I have close to 300 Rush bootlegs. Roughly 60 or so soundboards, FMs, and Laserdiscs combined - the rest various grades of audience recordings...I have NEVER come across anybody who wanted to keep a show all to himself...these shows are meant to be traded and shared. Not hoarded by fucking babies...what a loser.

QFT. No body wants you fucking show man. Shove up arse.

I spent countless hours working in my studio do quasi-isolation of Perry's vocal tracks BY REQUEST because I felt like it. We all love Journey. For you to come around tell everyone about your little show and then refuse to share because your baby ass spent too much time on it ?!?! WTF. Why would you even mention it then ? That is the question. SHove your show right back up your ass. You probably couldnt master your way our of a paper bag anyway.

I've finally completed my download of the Snivlle dual layer edition of the Tokyo '81 show.
There are now 4 seeds for this torrent over at: http://www.jamtothis.com/showthread.php?t=13348

I plan to torrent the Snivlle dual layer Tokyo '81 DVD on The Trader's Den in the near future.
I'd like to get this upgrade into the hands of as many fans as possible!

I'll post an announcement on the forum once the The Trader's Den torrent is live.
Keep your eyes peeled!

Thank you very much for the heads up...I downloaded and encoded to apple tv/quick time, and just watched some of it - still love the version of 'Dixie Highway' - the band was on fire...did I hear correctly, someone indicated Steve Perry had a cold that night? Or was that just some speculation?

This version still has the video 'blip' and minor 'audio' drop in the middle of the song (Dixie Highway)...I'm guessing the source has this too but who knows except maybe 'Froy'...video looks like the best I've seen so far of it, more vibrant, etc, but still could use a 'color' adjustment. Not sure how to do that digitally..

Anyway, thanks for your efforts and for whomever decided to repost....

Now if I could get the Departure era concert from Osaka of this quality... 8)

You're welcome!!

I think the Sniville Tokyo '81 DVD is amazing, even though it is "re-encoded".
I doubt anyone will be able to top his work unless they have an actual master or first generation tape of the show.

So, do you know anything about the Departure era Osaka concert? I have a high-gen copy that was encoded to DVD, but obviously could be improved...I'm pretty sure it exists because someone posted the following from it with A+ audio : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Os5OwJv42uk

I too have a high gen copy of the Osaka 1980 pro shot on a stand alone burner encoded DVD.
I obtained it in 2003. I think this version is the most common edition of the Osaka boot in circulation.

Even the audio boots I've heard of the Osaka show sound muddy.

I wonder where the Youtube guy obtained his source material?

The audio on that clip sounds like it was taken from Captured.
I know that parts of Osaka were used for Captured....

I am sure Sony has the Osaka '80 and Tokyo '81 pro shot masters locked up in their vault.
I'd LOVE to see official releases of all of the classic Journey pro shots in a similar fashion as the Houston November 5th-6th, 1981 DVD/CD.
The Houston official CD/DVD was a God send...

Ahh - but (and this threw me off too), "Loving You is Easy" was not on captured... :?

It's a shame a band like Journey didn't embrace bootlegs - I mean people trade "Grateful Dead" shows like every show is a unique worthwhile experience....please...Journey between the Evolution and Frontiers era...if I could I'd buy and listen to every live performance...

That guy is RICK. I think he has the same version as everyone else.

Rick, can you let us know where you got your copy from?

I'm pretty sure it's the same one I have as I can see the little static line on the bottom of the video.

I wonder if there is a version where they have a different camera at the end? It looked they lost one and had to do a long shot to compensate.

Note: Lights/Stay Awhile are the two songs from this specific show that are on Captured.

The 1980 Japanese pro shot Dvd is from Tokyo and not Osaka, as is commonly thought.
It was recorded at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo Japan on October 13th 1980 and was Rolie's final show with the band.
If you listen to the DVD audio, Perry clearly says "C'mon Tokyo" on a couple of occasions.
Rolie has actually confirmed to a friend of a buddy of mine from Rubicon Reproductions that the proshot dvd floating around is from Tokyo.

Just for your information there is no Dvd recording from the Osaka show, but there is audio. The audio is an audience recording though.
