If they're gonna have a timeline from SP to Arnel, including SA's "throat problems" then they certainly should include Jeff's tenure in that timeline. He was the reason "Journey's journey" didn't come to an end in that interim.
I think one needs to remember that the above article is just a promo blurb that is on the local Philly webpage. I am sure the guy who wrote it up was not overally concerned about hitting every single piece of Journey history post-Perry. Granted he mentions Augeri, but he was an 8 year veteran with the band and should have been, but even the band itself basically ignores Augeri's tenure since his departure, so Soto, like him, love him, or hate him was really nothing more than a footnote in the history of the band. And, Jeff likely got the nod because of his relationship with Neal, but if he couldn't have stepped in, Neal would have had someone else waiting in the wings.
