(Look what it did for Tom Cochrane.) If it's on a RF album, some CMT compilation, or possibly a soundtrack, who cares. All Journey is doing is keeping their music alive. And it might net a little bit (smidgeon) of press for their summer tour. Nothing wrong with that.

I'll also add that if Journey is onstage, in person in whatever form or just their music, that it's also publicity for 'Rock of Ages'. Journey's road is no longer about the AP story or creating new music. (That's been obvious for awhile.) Journey today is all about keeping the catalog alive. So whatever the tv spot is, or movie ad, then they should do it. It's nothing but bank.
And I've long said that some of the 'new music' should be in the country genre as duets - 'After All These Years', 'Turn Down the World Tonight' - pick another. Those would be huge country/pop hits. Hopefully JC is shopping those around Nashville some...probably the only way they'll ever hit the airwaves.
And speaking of good publicity, I'd love to see JC do 'Celebrity Apprentice'. That would take the Journey catalog even further. He could not only do it well, but it just might do wonders for his new 'Nashville' career.
