Eclipse doesn't contain the type of music That Middle aged Filipinos generally listen to. It is what it is.

Wow, I didnt realize Revelation sold that many copies there...thats more than what it sold in Japan, which was around 23,000+ I believe. Do you know the exact number of copies Eclipse sold?

In the Philippines? 770 was the last thing I read.

Yeah, sorry Phillipines.

Filipino jealousy & boycott. Seems some of the natives aren't down with their homeboy doing so well, compared to them, according to news that travels from abroad. I don't know how true any of that is, but some she knows say these things.

Is there a class of reverse racists?

Journey just isn't that popular there, no racism needed. They showed up for the first concert more out of national pride. They can't be expected to do that again. The story is old. You go to concerts to have fun, not to make a social statement because the singer is the same nationality as yourself.

I actually had these same thoughts in the past, especially when I saw all the Philippine flags waving at USA concerts. Now that all that has imploded, I wonder if he will succumb to his wife's desire to move to the states? Maybe all the loyalty, despite what AP has "given back" was not a two way street?

She wants to move to the States? Interesting.

Wow. Tears for Fears went there in 2010 and sold out to I think a 24,000 capacity and tried quickly while there to add on a second day because of the demand but no day available before they left for their next country.

So when Tears for Fears came back in 2012 last August they set it in a 16,500 venue two days in a row Manila for 33,000 total during the floods and still sold out I think, plus a third night in a smaller venue in Cebu. They were moved they all came out durng the devastation and donated all sales of merchandise for the floods. So it's not affordability. Jennifer Lopez did great there.

I say lack of sales definitely as the only reason not to go over there but not for the reason they're saying. I doubt they ever set a new date again, just a better way of cancelling and saving face. Easter isn't a reason. The concert is ten days before Easter. What a dumb excuse. What date are the elections they are using as an excuse for slow sales? That's embarrassing to say that since it's not on the same day as the election I doubt.

I guess it's fair to say there is no nostalgia for Journey and the newness factor of Arnel pulled in the number it did last time. But, come on, Arnel is still visible there and living there, a 20,000 arena should have been a no-brainer to fill. It's the first of March, several weeks left to sell tickets. So the sales had to be very low to cancel. I would think if they had even gotten to 15,000 sold they would still be playing and figure they could sell some more in the next two weeks and then rope off the upper tier. So what do you think they sold? 10,000?

prolly depends on the break-even point for the promoter.

Dude you are right on the Def Lep situation. I was Hudderfield about 10 years ago in a bar hanging out. A couple of guys had Gibson shirts on so I struck up a conversation. We talked rock music and I mentioned Def Lep. They chuckled and said no one cared about them. We're about 30 mins from Sheffield in Huddersfield. I was shocked. Def Lep couldn't get arrested in their home country. I still don't get it.

Seems the pinoys have the same problem with success that the Brits do then.. Leppard got huge in the US and couldn't get arrested in Britain.. and their countrymen called them sellouts..

It's why they all became tax exiles in Dublin for a year.. and Joe moved to Stepaside and stayed there..

It is sad, being that it's Manila, but they're doing fine everywhere else.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

It is sad, maybe even a little stab in the heart being that its Arnel's home. I just assumed by that alone, they would sell pretty well. Tears for Fears can fill the place, but Journey cant...WOW!

Can we officially get rid of the Easter excuse now? Demi Lovato's young fans not only had the holiday to schedule around, they also had school finals.

Yet here they are, showing up in force at her show at the Arenata Coliseum the other night.

That's too bad that they cancelled the show. As someone mentioned, could have been ticket sales, but a chance it could be something else.
