And I think he may have even realized that at some point - maybe an early screening of the dailies - and decided he needed to soften that image of himself so he then added the part in which he talks about Arnel now being a full member of Journey and him getting 1/5 of the profits, yada, yada. I'm speculating of course but I can see that happening.

Haven't seen the context in the film, but it's very possible that Arnel went out and did exactly what he thought he was being told to do - Go out there and be a rock star, Arnel. You're going to have to prove yourself and you need to give that audience an Arnel Facial! And then when Arnel did what he thought was expected of him, the band and management realized that's not exactly what they wanted and threw the blame back on Arnel. No idea if that's the case, but it has been known to happen.

Is what this film has to offer worth paying money for? I'm just curious because from all I've heard, it's stuff I'd like to hear about on talk shows like the Howard Stern show but to pay for it? Not so sure about that. Example is the singing at customs to get the visa. That's all fine and dandy but really do you want to pay money to hear about that? Stuff like that is fun to hear on the radio and such, but that's a very long hour and 45 minutes sitting in a movie theater listening to it after you get the general idea after the first 15 minutes.

It was $6.99 on Charter pay per view, and I think that's the only thing I've ever ordered over pay per view, other than that one movie when my wife was out of town.  Anyway, I was glad I spent the money to see it. I thought it was well done. You get to see some things you haven't, like was mentioned earlier in this thread, the writing process and recording process. They guys are just completely having a ball the whole time. There doesn't seem to be any tension or animosity. The drama is from Arnel with his back story and vocal treatments and him getting sick at one point and just life on the road.

Well, as some critics have said, it was more than a little obvious that Diaz was bias with her subject matter and that's why the the film does come off as a fan tribute in some spots.

Watching that scene, I had the impression that the filmmaker asked him directly whether or not Arnel was a full member. There were rumors on the internet that Arnel only had a temporary "handshake deal" with the band or something, and was getting screwed over.

How about the moment in the film Arnel is looking out the window at the lines of fans? There are a few moments like this but I am talking about the one time when the bus is rolling up to a venue. Arnel seems to be taking it all in. We see Neal look at him like a proud father. Then Neal leans over and looks out with window with Arnel. No words are spoken. I get from that moment Neal remembers what it is like to be a rock star for the first time. Thats a pretty cool moment in the film.

A big thing I get from the film to is Arnel is a perfectionist when it comes to his voice. He knows when he is on and when he is off. The one night Arnel has a cold and after the show he gets praise from everyone about how good he was. But Arnel knows his voice is not 100%. He states he is able to hide it well but he still knows. We also see all the vocal remedies Arnel carries with him. And there was alot of it. I get Arnel always wants to give it his all and be 100% all the time. A few times we see Arnel missing home and how heavy this weighs on his heart. Very cool inside look. Can't say enough what a great film this was. I am going to have to watch it again.

For as long as I've read interviews of singers, I've seen Throat Coat listed as being a staple in their respective arsenals of beverages. A year ago or so, my youngest daughter had bronchitis followed by strep which led to her losing her voice almost completely for about 3 months. At some point during her affliction(s) I told my wife to pick some up to see if it would help even in some small way. It did to some extent. Since I'd never tried it, I made myself a cup one day and OMFG!!! That shit is N A S T Y!!  And I'm a tea person!! I knew something was weird about it when the directions say to place tea bag in a cup of hot water then cover it an let it steep for... oh Hell I can't remember.... something like 2 hrs.!! Just kidding, it was like 5-10 mins IIRC but still, that's a long time to steep a tea bag - especially while covered. I know pro's swear by it but given the choice of drinking a cup of that vs. licking my dog's ass..... pretty much a toss up.

Throat Coat spray kicks ass. I've seen a guy with minimal singing talent take a few spritzes of that shit and nearly tear the house down. Throat coat tea, however, has never worked for me.

As it nears the end of its theater run, the movie has grossed $36,000 at the box office. They are going to really have to have monster rental numbers and DVD purchases to recoup the $2 million they poured into this (if they want to).

After reading this, I sat and tried to come up with the most appropriate adjective for such low sales: dismal, disappointing, weak... there really wasn't a single one that adequately says it. Man, that's pretty sad. If you do some quick math assuming the average ticket price was around 8 bucks to see it at the theater, that would mean 4500 people buying tickets. Wow! I seriously thought it would do far, far better than this.

Well, one girl reported being in a theater with only six people. Most of the places were art house venues anyway.
This film really is a direct to video type of story. Especially how late it is with its release, long after the story had been told over and over again.

Opening iTunes up to the movie's rental page doesn't help either when you're greeted with this.

The old forums are actually archived. You can't post on them. People have to create new topics in the new forums.

Unfortunately, It seems that each new upgrade to the website has shed members by the boatload.

I've counted; there's less than two dozen steady posters now, far from the 100 or more different names you would see posting daily there a few years ago.

The original site where it all started has become a ghost town with more info about Jessica Sanchez and others than specifically Pineda and Journey.

When this board gets upgraded, I think it will do the same as the APR site. The present forums will be archived for viewing only. New topics will have to be started up on clean boards.

To comment on general news articles, you'll log in through Disqus ,Google+, etc. For the general forum, you just use a regular log-in like you do now or your facebook I.D.
