He’s not young anymore and has been doing this for over a decade so losing some of his range isn’t a surprise. It’s not like he sounds like Paul Stanley or David Coverdale.

In this article Schon was quoted that he hopes Randy Jackson is ready for the upcoming Vegas residency.
And he also confirms AP sang in the original key. So. Fucking. Dumb.

As if Randy is learning the set while in physical therapy and will just show up at one of the shows???
Look, it's pretty obvious fans are not being told the whole story....
Marco has been promoting the Vegas dates on social media. He is obviously contracted to be there - and is not going anywhere anytime soon.
In another interview, NS said Randy wasn't expected to tour until '22. Which completely contradicts the fact that Randy was promoting Lollapalooza a few months ago and was expressing his eagerness to perform.
In another previous interview, Jon or Neal said they asked Randy to be in the band and then Randy selected Narada as the drummer. Now Narada isn't even the main drummer.
Ultimately, who the fuck knows what's going on. Just enjoy that the band exists and new music (in some form) is coming.

Speaking only as myself as a fan, I would love to see Randy there just because of his pre-existing history (After the Fall, Raised on Radio, Bolton) with Schon/Cain. Also, he is on the new album.Art Vandelay wrote:Marco's holding it down well, and him and Deen have an established rhythm section happening. Walden and Jackson have collaborated often. So it was a natural pairing. Now? Who tf knows. At least we have them on the cd!

He also answered a FB question about whether Narada and Randy would be in Vegas for the Residency. His answer was basically 'remains to be seen' "they are both on the mend".

1) that is one hell of a rhythm section
2) these guys are putting aside their cushy studio/Hollywood gigs to tour amphitheaters with Journey?
We’ll see if the second one actually happens

I had my doubts the lineup would ever actually materialize. It was announced in such a half-assed way - just by Neal on Twitter social media. No real press release or anything. At the very least we have Randy and Narada on new music, so that is exciting.
