You're seriously doubting whether Peggy Noonan is a true-blooded conservative? You're kidding, right?
Clearly then you don't reside in the same zipcode as the rest of us, or what one Bush official contemptuously described as the "reality based community."

This was caught off camera during a commerical break. I see no reason for them to lie.

Michael Savage feels the same way. Not all conservatives think alike -- unlike liberals.

My quote in no way indicates she is not a conservative. Then again, I know you have trouble understanding English if it isn't included in your "Word of the Day" reading.

I thought you said Savage was psychotic.. now you prop him up to exemplify Conservatisms' rich spectrum of thought?
Desperate and sad.

Riiight. Want to tell me again why Limbaugh's petname for his audience is "dittoheads"?
Clear Channel has hundreds of stations uniform and absolutely interchangeable in their content: Beck, Hannity, Limabugh, The War Room etc etc
It doesn't matter.
With the exception of Art Bell and Savage's more lucid moments, its' the same talking points, different day.

I think Michael Savage IS psychotic and probably a drunk. But he is a conservative not on board the Palin band wagon. I don't expect everyone who says they are conservative to have the same opinion of her that I do. That was the point. We can all think for ourselves.

I have no idea why Rush's audience is called Dittoheads. I don't listen often enough to his show to have a clue what those inside references may be -- nor do I care.

Please, let me tell you why.

In the early days of his show, everyone would call in and say, "Oh, I love your show", "We love that you're on the air speaking for us conservatives" and that sort of stuff.
Well eventually Rush told everyone to save broadcast time, instead of saying all that, "Just say ditto's".
So "dittoheads" is a term used for people who enjoy the show.

Now, care to enlighten us with your theory?

Total aberrational blip on the AM radio landscape.

Savage also doesn’t toe the line on the Iraq War, the minimum wage, or Bush being a competent leader.
About the only thing he sees eye level with the party is on the "gay mafia" and illegals.
To many, the guy is clearly an out and out Bronx liberal doing a method performance piece.
He's not reflective of anything beyond his own shallow opportunism.
Fuck, can you even find me one Conservative on this forum who doesn't think Iraq is morally righteous?

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise..

MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.

THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where McCain called Alaska the largest state in America, he could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.

MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.

THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.

FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."

THE FACTS: George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.

Dude, that was from Yahoo, not KOS or whateverthefuck you're talking about.

Now, if it came down to JUST experience, McCain would have my vote hands-down. But there is much more to it than that, and I think arguing about which mid-40's candidate has more "executive" experience is rubbish.

Almost all Republicans concede that McCain is not a gifted orator. Like him or not, Obama does have the ability to captivate an audience. Palin is the fresh face and an interesting choice, but let's see how she does in a live debate against a very experienced, intelligent Senator.

At this point NOBODY knows what Palin will be like on her feet.
Tonight only proved a guy named Mathew Scully can write a sufficiently nasty Rove-esque VP speech, and Palin knows how to deliver it.
Biden overshadowed everyone in the Democratic playing field during the primaries.
Stiff competition indeed.

Biden makes TONS of gaffs. I am not even a naturalized citizen here and can read your slant a mile away.

For the record, I don't care so much who wins the election. You have a definite bias politically and that makes your posts invalid. That woman gave a speech that even MSNBC and others gave credit to.

True, we can't be sure how she is off the teleprompter. But I'm sure she'll be better than Obama, "uh, uh, breathalyzer." "Frankly, that question is above my paygrade."

She's about as Ultra-Conservative as YOU are! You still think Bush is a conservative...and he isn't...he might label himself that way, but he and the GOP abandoned true conservatism and the core principals of smaller government, less spending, and such when they got a taste of power.

YOU are more conservative in most ways than Bush could ever hope to be.

Power corrupts...as the saying goes...
