I heard a story a few days ago about Steve Perry. The person relaying the story to me told of a very compassionate Steve Perry going out of his way to do something very touching for someone having a really hard time. Was he a dick in 1983? Possibly. Is he that same person today. I don't believe so.

Who among us hasn't been a 'dick' or a 'bitch' at one point in our lives? I seriously doubt that anyone on this message board can honestly say that they haven't. I know I'm guilty. I believe we've all noticed that Jon & Neal are not the nice guys that they like to make themselves out to be.

Arnel can flat out sing. It's not only my opinion, but other professional singer's opinion as well.

You guys, (who we love), need to give this guy a chance. He is awesome.

Have at it then dude. Even if Arnel was the most amazing singer on the face of the earth, I still have issues with the integrity of this band. As I said earlier, the only incarnation that would get me in a seat at one of their future concerts would be for Perry, and then, I'd be there ONLY because of him. The rest of the band mean nothing to me anymore. But then again, they never truly meant that much to me in the beginning either... it was always about the singer to me.

I have my dvds and cds. Journey is over, Party is over (for me).

If it was and is only about the singer for you, then how you can say you are Journey fan? You would be a SP fan or an SA fan, not a Journey fan. Like Neal and Jon or hate them, they are Journey importance.

I will "have at it" as you say.....YOU need to open up your mind. Journey is a five piece band, where every member is equal. I do not wish to argue, as that is not in my interest anylonger.

How can I say I'm a Journey fan? Cause he (Steve) wrote and sang the music when he was in Journey. My mind is and always was open, Dean... it just does not give a shit about the other guys AS MUCH as I did about the singer. I do not have to have equal admiration of all members of the band to be a fan of the band. But without the singer, which was always my catalyst, the rest means much less. How many Journey fans were more a fan of Neal... it's the same thing. And now, to the point of going through yet another lead singer change to someone that I don't feel is on par, I don't feel the need to give them my support.

i met the band in 81 and then again in 83 had a few things to sign, and his reaction was im not signing all of that...

Wow, and that was pre-eBay. I know several celebs won't sign anymore, or at least will only sign 1 item for people these days because of eBay -- they know so many people turn right around and auction off signed stuff. That could really mess with your mind if you were a celeb, and it might affect how I would sign, too, if I were in that situation.
