Am I the only one on this board that thinks there's more to the story and that it wasn't totally fraudulent? They didn't just come up with dates and times by a respectable club that seats almost 3,000 people. Come on, folks. Just sayin . . . .

As many of you know, Steve Perry has said that the ONLY official place for his personal statements to the public are found on Fan Asylum. He has posted
his statement there abot this hoax. Steve is an honorable guy who tells the truth. He has made his official statement. It was a HOAX. However, it unfolded or however it happened, Steve was not involved.
His name was used and his lawyers will handle the fallout. Steve has not been heard from on Fan Asylum for a long time, so the fact that he chose to respond to this means he was
fully aware of how out of control it could get and he cared enough about his fans not to let them be led down the pearly path of lies. We should all be sending thank you notes to Steve in this thread
because had he not provided an official statement, we might all be spending thousands of dollars on the sheer chance he could be performing. It was so wonderful of him to think about us.
Steve, we think about you too and hope you are doing well, and thanks again for your post. xx :D :D :D :D :D

Right on, SP Fan!

He is doing "stuff." He's doing exactly what the hell he wants to do and enjoying his life his own way. In
fact, he could have been out having fun this week if he didn't have to be talking to his lawyers, talking to Lora
about making an official post on Fan Asylum and having to work on this CRAP that happened to him. I
think when things like this happen it makes him want to run away, not get involved with it all once again, and
make him crazy. Can you imagine having to pay $350.00+ per hour to your lawyer for undoing this kind of thing when you had NOTHING
to do with it? I'd like to strangle the person or persons involved. What a waste of time and energy.
That is why Steve's post on Fan Asylum was so nice, because he put the lid on the pot just as it was about to boil over and burn the floor!
I've heard he's a great cook! :D

That's pretty bad, yeah... but the Journey guys falling past a window, sitting at a card table with coffee, and Steve Perry sitting next to shoes on top of a prison cot, or whatever that is, and then finally standing in a little room staring at each other... that's gotta be the worst ever.  At least in Chain Reaction, something is going on (even if it is kinky and strange!).

Lighten up, SPFO. As for attorney fees, I'm sure you know about retainers. He likely has these people on retainer to, among other things, put out little fires like this that crop up every now and then. This whole thing blew up and burned out in a matter of hours (everywhere except here, of course) :D . I would imagine after all these years all parties concerned know the drill. I would like to believe that Perry is not such a fragile creature that an event such as this - as bizarre as it was - wouldn't send him into some sort of catatonic state. :?

350 per hour is nothing to a guy like Perry. Also, his statement maybe took ten minutes to knock out. He didn't use a spellchecker so maybe even less. I'm sure he probably thought the whole thing was pretty funny and silly. He probably also got a bit of a 'happy glow' from the commotion it caused. If this is what makes him "crazy", then he probably should've never became a rock star in the first place. This is pretty minor stuff.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

With the exception of JSS, all of the Journey singers seem to be overly sensitive.

With all this crap now over and done with, you have to wonder if Perry even has anything in the form of new music ie (CD) coming out this spring or even this fall. Their was no mention of it and nothing has been said from Perry.

Exactly. He put no energy on this. He didn't even bother to take the time to actually talk to his fans about anything but quashing that article.

He just got handed a nice chunk of cash from Revelation. Maybe he can use that as throw away money for promoting a new album.

Maybe Disc two of Revelation WAS his new album?

Well, i have read from so many different sources and sites from individuals such as Randy Jackson, the Extreme guitarist, Russ Miller, e.t.c. that Perry's CD is due this spring.

I'm talking more about a public persona. Manly vs Feminine.
If we're talking about sensitivity to fans on the net, JSS and Arnel are the only two that participate in board discussions, right. They both seem to show their emotions online, albeit in different ways.

I was thinking of that comparison initially but I don't know if Perry or Augeri ever got involved in online discussions.

My "WTF" moment from the ATF video is where Ross stands up from the table, gives SP a dirty look, then flicks his cigarette across the room to lord knows where. Who does that??? CRACKS ME THE HELL UP everytime I watch it!

LOL toss up for which is worse, but After The Fall is probably my favorite song on that cd. I looooooove Perry's Frontiers and ROR vocals. Those vocals at the 3:40 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htxf3GOK4AA damn near make my toes curl.

I don't know where you read that. There have been numerous mentions of people writing songs with SP such as Rob Dickinson and Russ Miller the drummer working on some tracks for SP, but no one ever said that he was releasing a CD this spring that I can recall. Nunno Bettencourt even said he'd like to break into Steve's house to steal the tracks and release them. This would suggest that SP did not have any definitive plans to release a CD this year. If you have other information, I'd be interested in reading it.

No no no... After The Fall was 10 times worse.

Oh see I always thought the mannequin thing in Chain Reaction was worse

That's pretty bad, yeah... but the Journey guys falling past a window, sitting at a card table with coffee, and Steve Perry sitting next to shoes on top of a prison cot, or whatever that is, and then finally standing in a little room staring at each other... that's gotta be the worst ever.  At least in Chain Reaction, something is going on (even if it is kinky and strange!).

My "WTF" moment from the ATF video is where Ross stands up from the table, gives SP a dirty look, then flicks his cigarette across the room to lord knows where. Who does that??? CRACKS ME THE HELL UP everytime I watch it!

I don't care how goofy it is... I still dig it! 8) NS is a major hottie in dat video too.

NS was major hottie in this video...... Forget Me Not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbg4IvyDvSw He should play that geetar in head to toe leather in the rain a lot more often.  Bad English has some great tunes, but I never really got into them. There is just something about John Waite that totally turns me off.
