Here's one for you Nig. No wings. Neal's embarrased by the G talk. He really has no ego. If he did, you know who would be dead.

I have to disagree Craig, if Neal had no ego he would not be able to perform in front of hundreds of people.
So ego wouldn't foster stage fright or burnout. ONly so many hours in the day, yunno? Worrying about who's in the limelight, and who isn't has not effected Neal one little bit. He just wants to play, and bring enjoyment to those who listen, be it hundreds or mega thousands.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here? You think Neal only plays to bring enjoyment to others, and not because he thinks he a great guitar player?
Apples and oranges. neal was great at 15 years old. He hit the stage with Soul Sirkus every nite because he made a commitment; 500 or 5000. I saw both sides in different cities. Neal's performance did not waiver one iota. He's the Master pure and simple.

In your opinion. He was great with Classic Journey but he spreads himself too thin now. His Solo efforts are not that great and the General public dosen't even know who he is. He doesn't make the top great guitarist's lists and he still is not a household word. JMHO
I still say that his claim to fame will only be his great work with Classic Journey.
He's (Neal) about all the general public does know. Lets see, 'Voice' Grammy nominated and critically acclaimed. 'I ON U', number one on Adult Comtemporary radio for 3 weeks. 'Late Night', still selling, and talked about all over the world, plus the official debut of one Ms. Crow, yet LOL getting her to admit that out of indifference to longtime beau EC.
After all Neal had the nads to say no to EC at age 15.
MusicMidtown Atlanta 2002. The line at the bus waiting for Neal to exit was 12 people deep. ironically none the general public, yet Guitarists who were performing that day waiting in line to greet the Master. Mr Wizard from Mothers Finest came running from his stage perfoemance, and picture this....A sixfootfive black dude in heels bearing down on Neal Schon at 35 miles an hour or so on foot....... Security was about to tackle him, and I stepped out of line and stopped them simply by waving a badge saying "No No, he's cool, he's the Wizard."
Better than Ezra, Rick James, Mothers Finest, and others all waiting on Neal F'N Schon. If it happened in Atlanta, GA, you can bet your bottom dollar it happens all over the world. No better respect than that of your peers, and I said nothing about his classics work, just his work ethic. Read it again; Slowly.
