Why should they give some small-time shyster bullshit the time of day? Online conspiracy theories are nothing new, and they're all generally the same.

I feel sorry for the people who buy into this shit. But it's their problem. I'll keep enjoying the music, thanks.

well, la te da.... enjoy the music, I'm not saying you can't. But as I have said over and over, the blind leading the blind will get you nowhere. The fans who say the band can do no wrong, are dellusional. Whether anything about this is true or not.

It's not about giving a "shyster" the time of day, it's about being RESPECTFUL to their fans and saying something/anything. Even if SOME fans aren't being respectful to the band. I think that the blind fans who say they can do no wrong, and are talking "for the band" are harming the band as much if not more then the "shysters" of this whole fiasco.

At what point did I say the band can do no wrong? Grouping me with your stereotype of others sums up what all you guys are doing...taking the word of one for gospel and going to town with it.

Journey's been touring 30+ years, their reputation speaks for itself.

Guilty until proven innocent though, I guess. Sorry, that ain't the way it works, and you guys have yet to prove a damned thing. I'll take the band's reputation over the buzzing of a select few.

"After a lot of running back and forth and scratching of heads, one of
the recording engineers plugged in a pair of headphones into the CD
recorder that was recording Elson's house mix. In that mix, the vocals
were perfect. With one headphone on and the other listening to our feed
in the bus it was obvious that something fishy was going on.

We looked at our surveillance camera on stage and noticed a guy sitting
a bit out of place to the left of the drum tech. I went up on stage to
have a look and there was a guy with two digital multitrack recorders,
apparently sending a prerecorded, correct vocal to the house mix but
not to our bus. There were also some prerecorded synth pads and backing
vocals but we got those to the bus. "

So when will you stop talking about one man's vendetta against the band, all these audio files prove nothing, for all I care he created them himdself. Why ? Noone knows, maybe his girlfriend likes SA better than she likes him.. who knows

I think Journey is right not to react to one persons allegations, the internet is just blowing things way out of proportion.

Is it worth it - yea, I think the band owes their fans an explanation. Don't you?

LOL!

Just for the record, I certainly did NOT remove the clips from my server because I was worried about being accused of slander or defamation or anything. Only because publishing companies and lawyers like to charge nice fat legal fees for sending letters about removing unauthorized recordings from websites. Which is why I removed the audio clips - Even though they are completely within the realm of fair use (less than 1 minute for the purposes of educational debate and discussion, look it up), I know there are overzealous Journey "fans" out there that are eager to sic the legal fatcats on anyone they may not agree with.

After mostly reading alot, and giving some thoughts in a few posts, I have taken the time to think about all of the stuff I have seen, read and heard over the past few weeks. IN MY OPINION..I beleive that nothing was done wrong here, there is evendience that supports each side ...at times. The boots are just that boots. I went back and listened to a boot I have of 2001 and if you really listen to the vocals of SA,he was rough at times then too, I beleieve the sound of the band and the backing vocals helped him out alot. I then watched the Houston DVD and SP sounded great ( Im sure they touched up those vocals in the studio). But thats not the problem here SP or SA right now Journey is with SA. THe video of FITHL on youtube.com really doesnt sound like the CD cut to me and those videos are always a bit off when they make videos the sound is laid down over the video. We have seen no new eviendece to indicate that tape-gate is in effect. We have had threats of the band being blown out of the water, the world would come crashing down on them etc, etc, etc. The news that has made the US weather it be, the radio stations, XM radio etc all stem from the same source. Yes some of the stuff like Svante Pattersons report don't look good in some areas, but all of his info was 100% accurate. The gentleman sitting on the stage with the so called recorders was IDed as the keyboard tech,a week or so ago. We still have no new information, if there is I would love to read it , see it and hear it. Again these are MY Thoughts and knowbody else needs to agree with me, but we are all entilted to have our own opinon. I don't beleive a band with the background of Journey would resort to such levels as using a pre-recoreded lead vocal. This is not only wrong but very risky and career threathing. With all the technology out there today, they would have to now the risk of such things. If SA is having vocal issues and he needs Dean's help to hit sme of those notes the let it bee that way, we are talking about a band that has been around for 30 years,if SA got no help with those notes we would be hearing how bad the band sounded. If they were in their 20's or 30's and sounded bad that would be on thing.

As I stated in an eariler post I have followed some of today's acts. One of the bands I am into is Alter Bridge which is made up of 3 of the founding members of Creed minus Scott Stapp who was the lead singer. They reformed with a new lead singer Myles Kennedy. When I first go the CD it was great MArk Tremontti is a awesome guitar player, second to NEal of course and Scott Phillips is great on the drums, two of the best I have heard. The songs were great on the CD. While in concert the singer can't hit the notes as well as he can on the CD and sometimes he tries to hit them and he cracks. This takes away from the live show because at times it is a bit rough.

We would not want to see a rough Journey out there, I beleive that Journey is at a crossroads in hte end of their career now. They either need to get a hit song and back onto the charts, this would require a media push from a label. There second choice would to continue on the path they are on and they would probably just become a State Fair type of act, to reaaly seel tickets, the hardcore fan, myself included would contiue to go to any venue each year or so regardless of where they played. The last option is a long shot, but when I watched the Houston DVD yesterday I said wouldn't it be great just one more time to see SP on the stage soem how some way. That would make the bouys some serious $$$$$$$$$. It would be one of the hottest tickest around.

Anyway those are my thoughts :)

I'm with you. Perry, Smitty for just one more special with the other guys. It's the stuff that bands are made of.

Even if they could mend fences, Perry has some serious training to get back to where he was vocally.

Sounds like he might have been doing that since the White Sox parade. Uncle joe Benson has said that he has been in the room with Perry in front of a mic singing within the last 10 months...

I definitely take Uncle Joe with a grain, but I think if Perry could get it together it would make alot
of fans very happy. God knows he has it "in there", with proper training it could happen. I hope
SP is serious about it.

I agree. When it came/comes to music, it is/was a serious task for him. If he didn't tour, I'd be ok with it. But I'd hope for more music after that.
