Luckier than I perhaps! I have been reading these sites for awhile and I am shocked that people are so Pro everything. One dissenting opinion and people freak out! I am glad for you if you enjoy this guy, but the words I heard used to describe the performance from other fans were "butchering", "blasphemous" and "pitiful". I was not of that camp. I felt for him having to jump in probably right after a long night and a plane ride. I just didn't like it. It does not mean you won't and in fact I wish you well. He sure as hell did better than I could! LOL! Still just not my tatse! Show is over, the money spent, and the disappointment still lingers. Strong feelings, Yep!

And by they way there were a number of fights at the show. How does this happen? I thought this crowd would have been above that but I guess drunks will be drunks! LOL!

I think this site is the furthest site from pro-everything that you'll find!

But in this case, the masses are certainly backing Jeff and I'm grateful of that.

The fact you did not enjoy the show is fine...thanks for sharing your views here.

No one can sing Perry.

Not even Perry, now.

She knows exactly what you referred to. She likely knows who wrote that suspicious post.

Dunno, but the Journey singer's job is becoming like the Spinal Tap drummer's job.

He'll be fine....Jeff sang everyday for a year or more with Boogie Nights in the mid-90s, so he knows how to work hard and take care of himself.

I hope that Dean was shown your utmost appreciation for helping you get your man in, Andrew? Did you acknowledge that here somewhere or did I miss it?

It's a reference to Rockn'deano's lip-synching allegations supposedly forcing Journey's hand in getting Augeri out and Soto in.

Interesting!

What did Dean have to do with getting JSS in?

Because he was somehow in the know, he was able to get the whole thing going on here before it happened and possibly made it happen quicker. At the end of the day I think it was planned anyway.

But we don't know who he really is... so Deano could be someone who used to work for the band or could even be someone who still does work for them.

I'm not saying this was the case, but in theory it could be that whoever Deano is works for them and they're all sitting behind a wee laptop on the tour bus telling him what to say.

You would never know.

Holds no power over me. I march to my own little drum and that of a much higher power. :D

Hopefully the weather will hold out here in Tampa tonight for Journey at the Ford Amphitheatre. I attended a concert there this weekend also and after a few lightning bolts the sound was awful and they had a lot of technical problems.

Journey On.

Awww NIG, can you make it here by 2 p.m.

Actually, I'm headed to the Hard Rock first. I'm leaving work early today and I was told that a few Journey guys would be hanging out there. I'm hoping to snag an autograph or two, or three...

Looking forward to tonight. Journey On...

Actually I didn't mention Peter Cetera. But now you bring it up - you're talking out of your ass..... what was once a great jazz/rock band is now a slick oldies act. And btw, I can say that because I still consider myself a fan.

You can't SERIOUSLY tell me that Bill Champlin doesn't oversing?!?

I've never heard them live, so I can't comment on their performances. However, I can say that their older stuff, in the late 60s and early 70s especially, is far better than the stuff since then.

I really thought the Cetera era of Chicago was the best and I haven't liked anything I've heard since.

Completely agree with you. Old Chicago is great. Sappy, fluffy Chicago sucks.

I actually like some of the "sappy, fluff" stuff, just not anywhere near as much as their more progressive stuff. The only early Chicago album I actually own is "Chicago II" and I love it. Too bad Terry Kath kicked off so soon in life. The guy could play.
