Really? Seems to me when you were on that "I'm dying of cancer" kick you said you went in the studio and did some vocals. If you are so confident of your voice - let's here it.

Or, was all of that just one huge made up piece of fiction?

Hell, I can sing fairly well too, at least I've been told that by my friends! I'm obviously not a 'practicing' professional, so even though I can and have hit those higher register notes, my voice can't sustain that for a long period of time. Last time I sang in front of a large group of people was the National Anthem at a local West Palm Beach Expos baseball game, back in '99 (I think). I was nervous as hell and actually sang at a higher octave than I wanted to...and for a couple of seconds (which seemed like an eternity) I forgot a verse, but it quickly came back to me and I made it thru....phew...To a STANDING OVATION I might add! :)

Fuck off queer. I haven't lied about a single thing. The onus is on you to prove that I have. You can so stop already and come up with something on your own; cocksucker.

Some of my favorite Journey tunes were written solely by Schon & Perry, before Friga even joined the band. In some ways, I think Cain came between Schon & Perry when he brought his mellowness into the band. Perry & Schon weren't exactly writing wedding songs prior to Cain coming in. I guess that is what made them such a great 3-some. The fire, the melodics and the mellowness together made some great music.

absolutley correct. Steve P. vocal ability also helped tremendously. In fact, Journey would not have become the fabulous band that they are without him. It's sad that he willl never come back to the limelight. He likes living the quiet life.

I've never understood the criticism of Cain that he 'mellowed or 'pussified' Journey...or made them 'lovey dovey'. Sure, he co-wrote "Open Arms" but Escape and Frontiers are much heavier albums than any Journey record Rolie was involved in.

...except Faithfully, which is written by... Jon Cain!

I wouldn't say Jonathan "pussified" them, but he did mellow the band.

(by the way, Escape was not heavier than Rolie albums)

Well, that's like saying that Journey were a pussy band in the 1970s because they recorded "Lights" and "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'". We all know the Top 40 songs aren't representative of the entire sound of the band...

Cain co-wrote "Edge of the Blade", "Keep On Runnin'", "Rubicon", "Chain Reaction", "Ask The Lonely", "Be Good To Yourself"...etc etc...the list of thunderous Journey tracks written and recorded after Rolie left goes on and on.

Even the ballads aren't 'mellow'...."Faithfully" and "Why Can't this Night Last Forever" are totally immense. :)

I wouldn't say that Cain 'pussified' the band. I think he just helped the band move into the realm of 'commercial success' with his 'alittle closer to top-40' style of songwriting. He and Rolie, while each being geniuses at thier craft, are 2 totally different types of songwriters. I just think Jon has a knack for writing more commercially acceptable tunes. As long as Neal is around and allowed to flex some muscle, there will always be some rockers. And like Matt listed, Jon can contribute to rockers as well.
On the other hand, even though Rolie hadn't been in the band for years, the first Storm album could've easily been the follow up to Frontiers and been a SMASH if it carried the 'Journey' name.

I thought the first Storm album was a modest success.
Didn't they have a hit single in "I've got alot to learn about love."
