It's after 7 now. If it's his today, it would be showtime soon I would think. That would be this evening here.

Nice poem jrnysc!!

How about this - short but sweet.

Jingle Bells, Journey smells
The whole band laid an egg
C'mon get real, tell us the deal
And end this stupid fucking delay

Give him time guys. It's only 7am there. He'll probably be in his bed unless the wee ones are up watching the Singing Kettle or whatever the Aussie equivalent is.

I love ya...
But I think you need to slowly slide your seat
back from the computer desk, stand up on your
probably-numb legs, walk over to the fridge,
grab 5-10 cold ones and then go get laid :)

Its comin'...
Relax... :D

Ha ha ha
jrnysc I think you do need to step away from the computer, mate!

This impending fatherhood is affecting you.
The poem was excellent by the way.

You know about legal stuff and you know that when the lawyer's get stuck in to something then that something will
s-t-r-e-t-c-h out for ages.[the more hours they wrangle, the more money they make.]

And Andrew doesn't want to publish his works until he gets the all-clear.
The last thing he wants is the lawyers on his back - he has enough to cope with dealing with us lot.

Sorry the missus is feeling sick, that can't be good.
Hang in there, and remember patience is a virtue.

Thanks Susie. You know, you may be on to something there. My wife has been super tired, and I have been feeling a little down myself. Not sick, just tired as can be.

As for the lawyers, they are enough to make a jack rabbit break a loggin chain!! I would not be surprised if this is not about one weeks work stretched over a month and a half. Ya know, you can usually get them to work about 2 half days a week... I hate it for all these guys, I really do. Legal matters are never fun, and I guess as much as anything it will be nice for them to RELAX and enjoy some time off after that very long tour. You can't relax when this kind of crap is hanging over your head.

The other thing is this. It really doesn't shorten nor lengthen my life either way, but I am a little unhappy about how all of this has gone down with the band. I have loved these guys since 83, when I was 13. I guess I am a little let down, but got that boost of energy again when I saw JSS on stage with them. It was like Journey on acid, but in a good way.... :D I have followed this band for a long time, and always love the interviews with these guys. Besides, my other love is football, and it's about gone for another year.... :(

Ha ha ha.

You're like a little boy on Christmas Eve - waiting to see what Santa has brought you, but Santa is keeping you waiting.
I know how you feel, I'm waiting for Santa, too, but I'm kinda losing interest. I'm starting to think, " it's okay, I don't want a prezzie anyway, thanks."

Lawyers v lawyers is like a game of tennis.
I think you need a hobby to distract you from all the waiting. And stopping smoking/cutting down on beer is probably making you edgy, too! Maybe you could take up knitting?
Or writing poetry.

It'll probably be a huge let-down when the 'announcement' is made, anyway.

Like the Steve Perry interview we all just heard. That was like, 'I'm gonna be on the radio in a months time. Bet ya can't wait to hear what I have to say.' Then the tension builds, 'ooh whats he gonna say? Is he gonna sing again? etc' and when we get to hear it, it's just a pleasant little chat, nice to listen to and enjoy, but no big deal - and NOTHING WE DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW.

I suspect when Santa's lawyers finally spill the beans, it will be nothing we didn't already know. :)

So how's the knitting coming along?

Susie, your always the voice of reason. I know what you mean with all your thoughts. There were days even last month when I said screw it, it's not worth it. Nothing new is gonna happen anyway. But, there is something about this band and this forum that keeps me comin back. You are right, however, I will wake one day, see it on the front page, and be like "that's it?!" The smoking cessation is a booger, and it can get quite tense sometimes.

As for the Steve Perry interview, I didn't even bother. I had enough sense to know nothing was coming out of that one anyway (Not knocking those who did). Knitting huh? Boy I would be a hit at work!!! They would be saying "hey, my boss is a dude, and he is in his office knitting!! ".

Perhaps I will have a "cheat night" on my last day of 7 in a row..... (Working a week in a row don't help either!!!), and have me a few beers and a couple of smokies. Be like new tomorrow. :)

Nooooo! Don't weaken now! Smokies [we call them 'fags' over here! And YES I know what fags are in USA - speak!] are BAD, BAD, BAD for your lungs!
But a beer or two won't hurt ya. Just call me Doctor Susie. I prescribe jrnysc beer to be taken in moderation. But no fags, ever again.

The lawyers will be batting stuff back and forth to each other for ages.
And think about it, if you were taking the rap for something, you'd probably hit that ball back for as long as it took to make it worth your while to stop. I would.

And if I were a lawyer, I'd s-t-r-e-t-c-h every case out as long as I could to make money.
However, if I were a lawyer involved in this particular game of tennis, I would ask for a copy of Andrew's hard work and check it for legal loopholes etc then let him post it on here NOW! Before us lot go nuts. :)

Ok. Fair enough. Few beers and no more 'smokies'. I don't think I could pick em back up now anyway. I am used to smelling good and being able to breathe now!! I will take your other prescription to the convenience store when I get off work in a couple of hours!!

Yes, the attorneys in this are making bank right now. No reason to hurry. And, I agree with you, Augeri is probably covering his butt with both hands, as probably are the band, to make sure certain issues remain in the closet forever. Probably every word of this official announcement has been gone over by both sides time after time. Then there are the financial concerns, royalties, hush money, gag orders for the future, etc. And, attorneys who are experts at their craft can hold things up almost as long as they wish. They know how to play 'the game'. Perhaps in the back of my mind, when I found out Augeri was a full partner in the band, that Jon and Neal may say "screw this", and let Journey come to an end. Or, Augeri decide he is capable of returning and refuse to 'sell out'. That could have taken months and months to straighten out. After seeing them with Jeff, they still have years left in that motor. The world and rock music would not be the same without them. I also feel bad in a way for Jeff. There has probably been uncertainty for him at times too with this all dragging out so long. It will be nice to hear it's over finally, and get to read the work Andrew worked so hard on, and I know it means so much to him. Then we can have our baby while Journey is hopefully in the studio next summer or fall, and the world will be right again. :)

One other note. I can FULLY understand and respect Andrew waiting to release his interviews. NOTHING good would have come from that if he went ahead. He, IMO, has done exactly the right thing there.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"
