Really? Who is this? Your address looks familiar but there are/were a few NC people on the mailing list.

The mailing list was awesome and really provided the "real news" at the time.

Thank you. Believe me, I appreciate that. I'm sure Dan Stacy does too.

There was plenty of bickering back then

LOL...and who was in the middle of it?

not a lot has changed.

The names have changed...well, except for mine.

I do recall a crusade to get the newsgroup started alt.music.journey or something? After this big battle to get it started, like - no one posted on there.

True...it was done mainly because the mailing list was being axed from the mail server...Dan picked it up so I think people waited around for the mailing list to come back online. Also, the newsgroup was not as available to people as it is today.

The newsgroup did pick up a lot of conversation after a while...and it has died again over the past couple years.

There were weekly chats in Deep Groove on AOL, though I never really took part in them personally. I think they were Wednesday nights maybe?

And, on Sky's old forum...they were a ton of fun. We've done a few chats at JourneyForums.com. If the interest was there, I'd like to see someone schedule them weekly again.

I do remember Neal and Jon doing "AOL chats" for solo albums back in 94 - 95ish.

Yep...I don't remember if they were posted to the mailing list or what...But, I used to have them on an old PC.

That was a great time in the early days, though. Not everyone was smart enough to have access and it was small group of people really - and most of them were pretty smart and considerate online. This was also the time period where it really wasn't cool to like Journey and the band sure wasn't in the public eye at all - so it was nice to have a place to talk about the band.

I agree with this...People who were not around back then really missed the "best of times". It's just not the same nowadays...and probably never will be.
